Okay, so we've seen up through part of "C", and there's only one
reprint on the list so far. Let's take a look at what's in and out so
far and extrapolate for the rest of the list:
1. Adaptability - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
2. Beast Meld - OUT (New in Bloodlines)
3. Body Flare - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
4. Body of Sun - OUT (Erm, because it's stupid?)
5. Bone Spur - IN (Not printed since Sabbat)
6. Carrion Coffin - OUT (Probably phased out in favor of Homunculus)
Based on these, I'm making my guesses on what's in and out for the
rest of it:
[Speculation Mode]
7. Claws of the Dead - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
8. Dissolution - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
9. Earth Control - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
10. Earth Meld - IN (Probably recosted to match Majesty and Catatonic
Fear)
11. Flesh of Marble - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
12. Form of Mist - IN (Something's being done to it. Don't know
what.)
13. Form of the Ghost - OUT (Was abandoned in favor of Gleam during
Sabbat. Probably gone for good.)
14. Gleam of the Red Eyes - IN (See above)
15. Homunculus - IN (See notes under Carrion Coffin)
16. Horrific Countenance - IN??? (Currently the only completely
unblockable action mod. Will it stay in? If so, it probably needs to
be rewritten, possibly split into inferior and superior versions.)
17. Movement of the Slow Body - OUT (Abandoned after Jyhad, never to
resurface again)
18. Mythic Form - OUT (New in Final Nights)
19. Quick Meld - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
20. Rapid Change - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
21. Shadow of the Beast - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
22. Shadow of the Wolf - OUT??? (Not printed since Ancient Hearts -
possibly abandoned)
23. Uncontrollable Rage - OUT??? (Same as above - possibly abandoned)
24. Wolf Claws - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War, and if you have Claws of
the Dead and Bone Spur, you don't need Wolf Claws)
That's my guess, posted so all the world can see how right or wrong I
am. Discussion?

While I understand your reason, this card is so super rare, I think it
needs reprinting...

okay, so here is my guess
:: 1. Adaptability - OUT (Printed in Sabbat War)
I see it reprinted simply because it's one of the two "prevention" type
cards you have in protean.
:: 4. Body of Sun - OUT (Erm, because it's stupid?)
Why not a new text or new cost to be more playable, a la Drain Essence ?? =)
:: 6. Carrion Coffin - OUT (Probably phased out in favor of
:: Homunculus)
I see it reprinted. Homonculus will stay a jyhad oddity i guess =)
:: 7. Claws of the Dead - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
No reprint for this. Wolf Claws and Bone Spur will remain the standard of
Vtes.
:: 9. Earth Control - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
I guess not. Maybe Rapid Change will be printed again instead.
:: 10. Earth Meld - IN (Probably recosted to match Majesty and
:: Catatonic Fear)
probably not costed. It is protean, a discipline not shared by many
vampires. And not combined to deadly actions. I agree that it can be a pain
with those ani/wall decks but they don't usually win games.
:: 11. Flesh of Marble - IN (Not printed since V:TES)
Yes, but maybe as an uncommon and with a better text.
Like : costs one blood but prevents ALL the damage that can be prevented.
:: 12. Form of Mist - IN (Something's being done to it. Don't know
:: what.)
maybe cost one blood ?

So far, right on target.

I expect we'll see this in the Gangrel starter, but not in the boosters.

You know what else is OUT? "Anarch Revolt".
I figured it to be a sure thing for this set... and with changes to it.
Unless it's going to be starter-only and LSJ is not putting those on the
checklist...

I think that Mythic Form was never meant to be an often-used card, or
it -wouldn't- be so rare. It's a weird and unusual Protean card, not
intended to be a staple.
As for Bone Spur, Claws of the Dead, and Wolf Claws, I think we'll see
all three reprinted. They each do different things. Claws of the Dead
can give you a meaneuver; Wolf Claws can give you a press; printing
one but not the other would hurt protean combat decks (my Gangrel
Antitribu Amaranth deck uses both).

FYI: One and not the other was reprinted in Sabbat and in Sabbat War.
It doesn't seem to have hurt your protean deck, judging by your comments.

Actually, I use slightly more Wolf Claws than I need due to a shortage
of Claws of the Dead... If I need to press to the second round, then
I'm having a spot of bother.
I'm sure I could trade for CotD easily, I just forget to do so. Now I
won't need to. Yay!
As Claws of the Dead is alredy listed as a reprint for The Anarchs (a
Common), I guess if anything gets dropped it will be Wolf Claws.
That's seeming more and more likely; there aren't -that- many
reprinted cards in Anarchs, and a high percentage have already been
listed.

So it turns out I'm mostly right, with some interesting misses.
Here's my comments -
Form of the Ghost is IN
In retrospect, this is probably the right choice. Having the maneuver
at inferior is generally more useful than the press for protean
combat.
We have seen eight of the nine booster reprints, so my speculation on
the final reprint is that it won't be another protean card. There's
no need for both Gleam and Ghost, so Gleam is probably out. And I
doubt at this point that it will be Homunculus or Uncontrollable Rage,
as there is no need to make either of those even a C2. As stated
before, it seems more likely that the "goofy" protean cards will be in
the Gangrel precon. So what do I think that last reprint will be?
Renegade Garou, hopefully recosted down to 4 pool (or even less).
This card NEEDS recosting, and WW has shown in the past that they
won't put modified reprints as starter-only. Backways and Zoo Hunting
Ground are both certain to appear in the starter. I doubt they'll
bother with Gangrel Revel, Gypsies, Ritual Challenge or Shackles of
Enkidu, but if they do they'll be in the starter. This leaves Dog
Pack and Renegade Garou, and we're already past "D" in the checklist,
so my guess is Renegade Garou. However, I do hope Dog Pack is in the
starter. Please?
Eric Simon wrote:

Starter-only modified reprints printed by WW:
Acquired Ventrue Assets
Akhenaten, The Sun Pharaoh (Mummy)
Alamut
Antediluvian Awakening
Arson
Banishment
Blood Fury
...

Oops. There are 10 booster reprints. 122 new cards (not 123 as I had
previously indicated).
Apologies for the error.

Hmm. Obviously I was thinking mostly of the recent past (just CE),
but I was obviously wrong about that as well (Blood Fury).
I guess it's time to put my speculation hat back on.

Okay, so now we've seen all the booster reprints:
Bone Spur C
Claws of the Dead C
Earth Control C
Earth Meld C
Ecoterrorists R
Flesh of Marble C
Form of Mist C
Form of the Ghost C
Movement of the Slow Body U2
Renegade Garou R2
Gangrel Revel is listed in the migrations but not in the checklist, so
it will be in the precon. I'm sure we can expect to see some other
Gangrel-specific reprints in there as well (hopefully Dog Pack is one
of them). I'd also really like to see Tier of Souls, which should be
a lot more available than it currently is. (ToS is way too useful to
be rare.)

Looks like we've seen all 10 now:
Bone Spur
Claws of the Dead
Earth Control
Earth Meld
Ecoterrorists
Flesh of Marble
Form of Mist
Form of the Ghost
Movement of the Slow Body
Renegade Garou
I'm really surprised Zoo Hunting Ground isn't being reprinted. I
assume this means it is starter only, but that's a break from what
White Wolf has done for all the other preconstructed starters.
Assuming the Zoo HG is in the Gangrel pre-con, I wonder what sort of
HG goodness the Barons and Gangs decks will have...
I was hoping that they'd reprint Path of the Feral Heart and alter it
so that both Gangrel and Gangrel Anti could use it and save on blood
for Protean cards.
I find myself using Gangrel Anti more and more when I'm using protean
heavy decks. If I'm going to use a Wolf Claws or an Uncontrollable
Rage, I'm more hesitant of using it with the regular Gangrel just
because of the blood cost.

I'll probably drag my junky-butt to it anyway, but between the $20 for the
Con, the two rounds, and starting at eleven, it's going to be hard to eek
out a showing. I'll do my best to round up some of the Durham crowd... I
know one or two who are usually up before late afternoon. ;)
