I was reading the FAQ on torpor and came up with the following question:
Is the example wrong?
The FAQ states that if a vampire has 1 blood that it will get burned if
it receives 3 aggravated damage. Wouln't that only send it to torpor?
1st point, no damage taken, vampire goes to torpor. (p 32 of book)
2nd point, vampire @ 0.
3rd point, vampire @ -1, in torpor but still in the game.
Is this the correct interpretation or am I still confused?

1st point: damage taken; vampire cannot spend blood to heal agg damage,
so is on its way to torpor.
2nd point: vampire must spend one blood to prevent destruction.
3rd point: vampire must spend one blood to prevent destruction.
Vampire does not have one blood to spend to prevent destruction,
therefore destruction is no prevented, and the vampire is destroyed.

You are correct in that the first agg. damage sends it to torpor but
if all this damage is received in one blow then the second agg damage
makes him zero and the third put him at -1 which would kill the vampire.
The is called the final death and a vampire literally incinerates. This
is NOT diablerie. If this happens, though, the killing vampire does not
gain the equipment that the dying vampire had. Or any skills. This is
the only way that a vampire can be released from his undead curse except
by Golconda.

Well, you're close. The formula for burning with aggravated damage is:
X + 2 damage where X is the remaing blood on the vampire.
The first point sends the vamp to torpor with no damage, then each
additional point removes a blood point. If a vampire runs out of blood
and still needs to remove 1 or more then he is burned.
In your example the following would happen:
1st point: torpor with no damage
2nd point: vampire @ 0 blood
3rd point: vampire @ -1 so he's burned.

Is the vampire being burned because it is 3 agg damage? I thought the
vampire has to be at -2 from agg damage to get destroyed.
Obviously still confused,

The first aggravated damage sends the vamp to torpor, obviously.
Everybody seems to understand this part.
All subsequent points of aggravated damage cause the vamp to lose
a point of blood for each point of agg damage. If the vamp does
not have as much blood as the aggravated damage tries to remove,
it goes to final death.
If the vamp starts out healthy but at zero blood:
The first point of agg sends it to torpor, just like normal damage
would. But the reason is different. The first point of agg sends
it to torpor because it is the first point of agg, not because it
does damage and he has no blood to heal. It doesn't even try to
remove blood from him.
The second point causes him to try to lose blood. since he has no
blood to lose, he dies.
It took two agg damage to kill him, but the agg damage only reduced
him to -1 (actually, it just killed him, but you can look at it as
him getting reduced to -1 if it makes you feel happy. Negative blood
does not exist in Jyhad).
This can be expanded to say that a vampire can be killed if it takes
X+2 aggravated damage, where X is its current amount of blood. One
sends him to torpor, X remove blood (zero in the above example) and
one more to kill him. It all has to be in a single strike, though,
'cause combat ends once the strike that sends him to torpor resolves.
Just me.
