In combat, If I manuever out to
long range and use a thrown Gate,
then Blur, are my 1 (or 2) additional
strikes also thrown gates or do I need
something else that's ranged?

You need something else. A strike card can only be used for one
strike (weapons excepted, of course).

You are going to need additional strike cards. As a side note,
if you had used the maneuver from a weapon or combat card you
are NOT commited to using that weapon during additional strikes!
