Taunt the Caged Beast
ani: (D) enter combat with any vampire, with an optional maneuver in
that combat.
ANI: Choose a vampire controlled by your predator and by your prey
(not usable when only one other Methuselah is in the game). The
chosen vampires enter combat. If only one is ready at the end of
combat, he or she gains 4 blood. [spoiler text via vtes.pl]
Right, so, "let's you and him fight" is usually a good deal. Even a
pair of plain vanilla "hands for one" is still two blood off the
vamps. But what can you do to steer the combat in a more ...
substantial direction? Like, Frenzy would be cool, but that's an out-
of-turn master, and it's, uh, your turn. What else is there?

PS: Better safe than sorry, I figure, but is it still a spoiler after
pre-release weekend?

Vampiric Disease. Spread the love.
Also, Alejandro Aguirre -
"If Alejandro is ready, he may tap before range is determined in any
combat that does not involve him to inflict 1 unpreventable damage on
each combatant."
He already has basic ani so he can possibly fit into a Taunt deck.

Did someone mention a new idea for a Uriah Winter deck?
:-D
If I needed a reason to start playing again, I may have found it...

I was going to make a Save face deck with Qadir... I change his clan
to my prey's vampire clan, then make him press in combat. Course
Vampiric disease will go into the deck. Or
Mark of Damnation. That'll be funny...

If the action is blocked again, yes, the damage done in the resulting combat
will be affected by Dawn Operation.

Mark of damnation & inspire greatness in a guruhi deck, lets you
concentrate on voting while your predator beats the hell out of your
prey for you, fun fun fun :)

Inspire greatness doesn't work I don't think... Well, depends on how
you read it...
But I don't think it'll work... Tempation on a vampire might cause
people to want the other to put the smack on... Or burn that extra
blood you need off it... =D

and if the action isn't blocked that second time, you can play it at
*inferior* after the action, right?

If the action is successful, then inferior freakdrive is good enough.
The interesting part is that you can superior freakdrive before the
end of the action when you're blocked/form of mist.
LSJ, while looking at card text, I assume the following ruling is
obsolete:
"Is played at the end of an action, but still during the action. It
cannot be played on an action that was made unpreventable by
Concoction of Vitality, for example. [LSJ 19981028]"
Seems like a dodgy ruling to me, for obvious reasons. Could it be
removed?
Cheers,
B

Or cleared up to imply that it refers to the timing issue of the not-
able-to-use disciplines effect of concoction, instead of the
'unpreventability' ;)
As in: It cannot be played on an action under the effects of
Concoction of Vitality, for example.
Misinterpretation on my side, cheers,
B

Yes, but the example so far is a FoM continuance that was blocked a second time.

No, you can't.

As you note, the ruling is still valid. The "still during the action" (and
reading card text) should clear up any misconceptions.
[Talking about form of mist and Freak drive]
[ quoted text not captured ]
Which it would have to be. You couldn't play it before, since you don't
know whether you're action is going to be successful at that point...?
