Last night some Theft questions came up. Since it's been said that the order of operations is "steal, then do damage", it can lead to confusing situations. 1) Theft of Vitae vs. Zip Gun When does the Zip Gun damage (to the bearer) happen? Is it before or after the blood is stolen? 2) Theft of Vitae vs. Allies (general) If Theft removes the last life off of the Ally, does that Ally still get to resolve his strike or is he burned first? 3) Theft of Vitae vs. Shambling Hordes Is the Shambling Hordes' strength (for purposes of current strike phase) determined before or after the life is stolen? 4) Theft of Vitae with Memories of Mortality Stealing blood from an ally still doesn't constitute damage, so this is legal, correct?

Steal and inflict damage (and other strike resolution effects) all occur simultaneously (barring first strike, etc.). And then, after applying all of the strike resolution effects, you move on to "handling" the damage (prevent, heal, prevent destruction, or burn life). > 1) Theft of Vitae vs. Zip Gun > When does the Zip Gun damage (to the bearer) happen? > Is it before or after the blood is stolen? Applied simul with steal (but no blood is burned to heal). Handled after. > 2) Theft of Vitae vs. Allies (general) > If Theft removes the last life off of the Ally, does that Ally still > get to resolve his strike or is he burned first? The strike is resolved simul with the other strike. The effects occur. > 3) Theft of Vitae vs. Shambling Hordes > Is the Shambling Hordes' strength (for purposes of current strike phase) > determined before or after the life is stolen? Before. When applying strikes, figure out the effects of each before applying either.
