Hello. I am aware there is a "most recent effect" ruling. How does that work exactly? How does that relate to contradictory effects, such as playing a Haven Unconvered on a vampire with Secure Haven? Thanks for your help. Cheers, Luiz

I think the game avoids "most recent effect" type issues. To answer your question: http://minilien.com/?aOKbIb8nfo You can play it on the vampire (haven uncovered) but you do not get the D action rush until the secure haven is removed. Does not matter which is played first. -JTP

I understand that Haven Uncovered does not cancel Secure Haven's D actions prohibition effect. However, I have read mentions to a "most recent effect" rule on this forum, but could not find any explanation on how this should work (if it really exists). And, if it does exist, I wonder why it doesn't work in situations like SH versus HU. Thanks a lot. Luiz

Because the two do not contradict. One says no (D) actions can be made against that vampire. The other just adds a (D) action to the list of (D) actions in existence, all of which still cannot target the Secured vampire. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. If two efects contradict, the most recent one takes precedence. For instance, suppose Matthias uses Clan Impersonation to become a Ventrue, but is then Deranged by Rachel Brandywine. Both Clan Impersonation and Derange are put on the vampire, and both state that his clan should be something different. Derange would win out because it's the most recent effect. > And, if it does exist, I wonder why it doesn't work in situations like > SH versus HU. Secure Haven and Haven Uncovered do not contradict. SH says the vampire can't be the target of (D) actions, not that cards that allow (D) actions can't be played on the vampire. --Colin McGuigan

Thanks John, LSJ and Colin for all the answers. Cheers, Luiz

That would mean that if I play, first a Heart of Darkness ("Any minion may burn this card as a D action) and, second a Secured Haven, my Setite would also "secure" his Heart of Darkness, making it impossible to anyone to burn this card as a D action. Is that correct ? jps "Colin McGuigan" <magu...@BGONEspeakeasy.net> a écrit dans le message de news:k4GdnVt738c...@speakeasy.net... [ quoted text not captured ]

As I understand it, Heart of Darkness is not "secured", since Secure Haven says the minion cannot be affected by (D) actions, but it doesn't say anything about the cards on him. The action to burn Heart of Darkness targets that card, not the minion. Cheers, Luiz

Is that correct ? I'm inclined to say no. The action to burn Heart of Darkness targets the Heart of Darkness, not the minion who has it. The Secured Haven protects the minion, not his cards. Now, if you had a card that gave you X, but also included a "may be rushed as a D action" clause, such as Regent, and you then put a Secured Haven on that vampire, I would say the Haven protects against that, since the action would traget the minion, not the card providing the effect.
