If Reverend Blackwood plays MotS and the only equipment in library is Ankara Citadel, what happens? Roger

>If Reverend Blackwood plays MotS and the only equipment in library is Ankara >Citadel, what happens? > Well, since he does not fulfill the requirements of Ankara Citadel (he's !Tremere), he ends up with no equipment. Just like if you Magic of the Smith when there is no equipment in your deck. Halcyan 2

I take it that when you refer to The Reverend, actually you are referring to any minion who is not Tremere?? In any case he will use the Magic of the Smith to search for any piece of equipment in your library and simply fail to equip with that (if it was the Ankara Citadel, Sword of Judgement or ...). The Ankara Citadel would then be transferred to your ash heap! As I see it anyway! Claus Staal -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG

No, with Magic of the Smith (or any card that searches through you library for something), you aren't required to actually get the card. You may actually choose to fail to find it. (So if you Magic of the Smith even when your deck is filled with equipment, you may choose to not equip with any of it). Halcyan 2

Your equip action failed ( becasue you could not meet the requirements ). You do not pay the cost of a failed action so you do not pay for Ankara.

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct. And he cannot choose to equip with equipment that he cannot equip - so burning the Citadel isn't even an option. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. [ quoted text not captured ] The MotS action succeeded - its cost is paid. You can't go looking through your library until the action succeeds. You don't pay for the Citadel because you do not equip the Citadel (because you do not meet the requirements of doing so). [ quoted text not captured ]

Ah, ok, you you can't even fetch Ankara from your deck because you can't meet the requirements. I thought you paid for MoTs, tried to equip w/ Amkara and failed. Makes sense, it's not like you're allowed to take an action that costs 2 blood when you only have 1 and just let it fail.
