Strictly FYI: There's a Meddling on eBay. 3 days left, it's
going for $24.50. I predict it'll close above $40, and I wouldn't
be surprised if it broke $50.

Hrm. Maybe I'll go to the Storyline Chicago, after all. That'll make 4
Meddlings that I can sell for $50 each...

What I find 'amazing' (well, only a little, but still).
I'm Mr. Anonymous-has-only-been-a-prince-for-one-month, and I decide
to host a Storyline Tournament.
WW, being the loving people they are, send me a prize package - and 30
Meddlings to distribute.
Do the math. 30 Meddling * $ 50 = mucho dinero.
I'm somewhat touched by the faith WW has in all us princes. Therefore,
I would like to say (I guess on behalf of all of us): "WW": Thanks
much!"

Deventer
P.S. Of course, I am an ethical being. The Meddlings are going to my
players this upcoming weekend, and any I have left over will be
additional prizes in future tourneys. I want to make it clear that I
am NOT encouraging anyone to think larcenous thoughts, if you keep MoS
for yourself as a prince, you are a lowly bottom-feeder.
(And, like most WW books say: most well-adjusted people won't need
this disclaimer. Those that do: go read a book on ethics, that you
bought somewhere.)

Oh, that's nice. And I thought it was stupid that the Carrion Coffins were
going for 8 bucks.
Yaa! Chase power promos! Going for $25.00 each! That is *always* good for a
game environment!

Dan Murdock used to go for big figures on eBay, remember (it broke
US$30 at one point - after it had been distributed willy-nilly
at tournaments, cons, and free for the asking via SASEs - I forget
what height it actually reached). Or do you consider him a power
promo as well?
The fact that Meddling is a promo-only (and currently only available
at Feb. Storyline tournaments) is sufficient to explain the price on
eBay.

No, no, he is a chase *non* power promo. Paying $30.00 for Dan Murdock is
likely to get you nothing but a complete set, which might be important to you,
but isn't going to affect your ability to win games--the "12 Dan Murdock Deck"
isn't likely to make any significant impact on the game environment, and in all
likelyhood, will just get you killed.
Semsith is a power promo. Paying $30.00 each for a handfull of Meddlings is
likely to get you a very powerful deck that will have a significant impact on
the game environment.
The constant attempts to compare Meddling to Dan Murdock really don't go
anywhere--yes, they are both limited circulation promo cards that provide
unique abilities to one extent or the other. But where Dan Murdock is
essentially equivelant to an elready existing vampire but has a corner case
special ability that is unlikely to have significant impact on the game
environment, let alone a particular game, Meddling is a powerful card that will
have a significant impact upon any game it is successfully played in, let alone
the environment as a whole.

The price is easy explain--supply and demand. There is a limited supply and a
high demand.
Didn't you used to have a "civilian" e-mail that you used to respond in a non
official fashion? It seems kind of silly that you feel it is neccessary to
respond to random, snarky complaint not directed at anyone in particular with
an "official" response.

I happened to look at Dan Murdoch again recently and discovered that
his disciplines were a perfect fit for a deck I was building. And the
Giant's Blood schtick seems quite strong as Giant's Blood is itself a
strong card which has shown up in many tournament winning decks.
On the other hand, I've yet to be really impressed by Meddling. I
have four copies of the card now but can't see me ever doing more than
splashing a single copy into a deck - a toolbox option to hose decks
that cycle like crazy.
IMO, Dan Murdoch is the more powerful promo. I have the impression
that thousands were put into circulation but the price has held up
quite well (I paid $8).

Do my eyes deceive me, or is this a challenge? If I can make Clan
Loyalty into an extremely effective card, I can do wonders with Danny Boy.
*ponders*
Can I use a 6 Dan Murdock and 6 Uriah Winter crypt?
Regards,
Noal
Boy if that promo card is released anywhere else...like scryre...I
would feel pretty dumb for shelling out $30 bucks.

At least Dan can use Nose of the Hound then whip out a disguised Pocket
Watch. I suppose he could play Panacea on Uriah Winter, not sure why
he'd want to though.

Ooh, baby. A challenge indeed!

Seems fair--that way we'll have less moaning about "But *I* don't have *12* Dan
Murdocks! How can I compete!"
That, and they make a nice looking pair. I'd hand out with both of them. They'd
make me feel manly.
