I don't actually have the card myself but when our group playerd awhile
ago we found an "errata?" on the card. On the card (not a direct quote
since I don't have a copy in front of me) it says when the vampire
untaps s/he may take a directed action to attack another minion. The
rest of the card is irrelevant for this question. What happened in this
game was that one fellow made a deck around untapping (wake then
strike:combat ends, Masika, Rat's Warning...). What ended up happening
is that Masika came out and got the Chainsaw and guess what he went on to
dessimate every other vampire on the playing field. So far as we could
figure out as soon as Masika untaps he could take an action to attack any
vampire do his six damage and wait for that person's turn to end and
untap and repeat the process. Since the Chainsaw only does damage to
your own minions on your untap in a four person game Masika can do up to 24
damage to other metheusalah's minions while only 3 to your own.
Is this fair? I don't know but the card seems to suggest that it is like
the Madness Network where you can take actions outside of your own turn.
Can anybody clear this up?

No. Two things are described.
1. On untap - 3 damage is done to a friendly minion.
2. As its action, the bearer may (must, whatever) take a (D) action to
attack another minion.
Even the 1. described only describes an effect that occurs during your
untap phase - *not* when the bearer untaps for a random reason.

Nope. Masika can untap between turns, but he cannot take an action on another
Meth's turn, nor does TC deal 3 damage to any friendly minion except on
Masika's controller's untap phase.

No. No minion can act on anothers turn except by benefit of the Madness Net.

You guys got the card all wrong. It says : (I have it here in front)
"3 damage each strike. 1 press each combat. Prevent up to 1 damage each
combat. When ready and untapped, the bearer ATTACKS a minion of any
Methuselah as a (D) action. This action is at +1 stealth, Bearer may not
hunt. During your untap phase, if the bearer is ready, you must inflict 3 damage
on 1 minion you control which may be the bearer itself."
This means that the guy holding the chainsaw has an unlimited Bum's Rush
at +1 stealth.....so if nobody blocks that guy with +1 intercept, the guy
will enter combat with the chosen vampire with all it's attributes as
mentioned. (3 damage, prevent 1 damage and 1 press). There is a catch though
because the bearer has to be tapped all the time at the end of the turn
or else you'll HAVE to do 3 damage to any minion YOU control. So, in other
words, once you have the chainsaw, just let er' rip!!

Peace Fong,
You appear to be under a slight misconception. You said "... bearer has to be
tapped . . . or else you'll have (sic) to do 3 damage to any minion you (sic)
control." Being tapped has nothing to do with being ready. You will have to
do three damage to one of your minions each turn that the TC wielder is still
in the game and not in torpor, even if the TCw is tapped (which it should be
as the DTR ruled the attack part of the TC was _not_ optional).

I played a sealed-deck game against someone this weekend who
insisted that this card was errata, and that it was supposed to say
that the TC wielder chews another of your vamps only if untapped.
I've checked through the net-posted errata and seen nothing
of the kind...odd, since this person should have known better
(being a serious Magic guru and at one time a Jyhad playtester).
Maybe the original conception of the card was "mangle one of your
vamps if wielder is untapped" and it was changed to "ready" as
a balancing move...
: in the game and not in torpor, even if the TCw is tapped (which it should be: as the DTR ruled the attack part of the TC was _not_ optional).
What was decided about the case where the Talbot's wielder has
no blood on them? They must hunt, but they can't hunt...so what happens?
Random thoughts --
How the heck does TC prevent damage from a .44? A bomb? A grenade?
A rocket launcher? :-|
Hmmm...TC + Fame...two great tastes that taste great together...

That is not correct.

The vampire can take no action, but can block/react.

A vampire with TC and with no blood is stuck. The only action it can perform
(Hunt) is forbidden (by TC). It can do nothing (take no action).

Magic. Consider it a form of regeneration.

Can it not block?
I see that it can take no action on my turn. (hunt-no hunt)
but should it not remain untapped until I try to block with it?

Of course. Blocking is not and action, so is not forbidden. It will remain
untapped until some outside occurence taps it, or until it blocks.
