Epiphany asks you to search for a base vampire's advanced version. First, can you choose /not/ to find an advanced copy? (guessing yes) Second, can you play it if you know you don't have the advanced version in your deck? (guessing yes, MotS) Third, what constitutes a "base vampire"? (guessing any vampire who isn't advanced or merged) Just making sure. -- Brian

[ quoted text not captured ] if the fist three answers are 'yes', is your next question 'can you play it on some vampire where an advanced version hasn'y even been printed for?'. Because that's where i see this going, and I guess it would help with card cycling, and crypt shuffling (if there was some reason, bear-baiting, perhaps?, that you'd want to shuffle your crypt). -- salem (replace 'hotmail' with 'yahoo' to email)

In addition, if you already control the advancement or the associated regular "base" vampire and the other version of the vampire is in your uncontrolled region, then you can spend 4 transfers and 1 pool to move the vampire card from your uncontrolled region to the controlled vampire card (place the advancement card on top of the base card). So yes, it's the not-advanced, unmerged vampire. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D YOU ARE IN ERROR. EBD690ECD7A1FB457CA2 NO-ONE IS SCREAMING. 13D7E668C3695D623D5D THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

Or Grendel, the Worm-Eaten, telling you that there's vampire there you don't want. Which will happen all the time. Three times a tournament, I'll be bound. [ quoted text not captured ]

Correct.

[ quoted text not captured ] To clarify, does every single vampire crypt card in the game count as a "base" vampire, except those with the "advanced" icon/text? Or only those where there exists a corresponding advanced vampire? eg: Is Arika a "base" vampire? [ quoted text not captured ]

That's "to reiterate", yes -- "any vampire who isn't advanced or merged" is a "base vampire", as above.

> if the fist three answers are 'yes', is your next question 'can you play > it on some vampire where an advanced version hasn'y even been printed > for?'. Yes, absolutely. You read my mind. > Because that's where i see this going, and I guess it would help > with card cycling, and crypt shuffling (if there was some reason, > bear-baiting, perhaps?, that you'd want to shuffle your crypt). Well, I suppose crypt shuffling, sure. I personally just want to advance Alfred Benezri. That means lots of Epiphany, and therefore I really want to know whether I will choke on the other copies or not. -- Brian

And if I read the words on those things, then it will tell me the rules? I thought LSJ just carried it all around in his head! Seriously people. Play. The. Game. Read. The. Rules. Stop. Posting.
