This has probably been asked before... How does Skin Trap at Superior effect allies? Skin Trap [SW] Cardtype: Combat Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Vicissitude Play before range is determined. Opposing minion may not dodge this round. A vampire can play only one Skin Trap each round. (S) As above, and opposing minion cannot strike at all this round unless he or she burns one blood immediately. Some may burn life for specific disciplines or in specific situations, but not for this situation. Carpe Noctem. In article <957erg$tj0$1...@nnrp1.deja.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] I thought that allies "ignore all burn blood effects entirely". I'm sure LSJ said that somewhere. Does that not apply in this case? [ quoted text not captured ]

Actually, Tom Wylie said it, March 26th, 1996. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulings.html I am not an LSJ, but this would be my answer. It does not apply in this case. The card says "opposing minion cannot strike at all this round unless he or she burns one blood immediately." It doesn't say opposing vampire, it specifies minion. Since allies can't burn blood (not having any vampire blood), they cannot strike that round. [ quoted text not captured ]

Since allies cannot burn blood, they ignore "burn blood" effects. This doesn't allow them to behave as if they had burned blood, however. If they have to burn blood to achieve (or avoid) some effect, they fail to burn a blood and therefore fail to achieve (or avoid) the effect. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
