Acquired Ventrue Assets - "During each master phase, you may move 1 blood from this card to any Giovanni you control." Does this mean each Master phase of any player, or only the controller's master phase? -- L. This card is very useless wall paper anyone hear of Hunting ground?? only difference is that hunting ground is not limited on amounbt of blood it can give, and cannot be destroyed by a D action. I am very mad about this crappy card. ||||||| BRAD /\wa...@pioneer.nevada.edu |^_.^ _^|. o O (all I did was smoke) /vvvvvvvvvvvv \-----------------------C\[@]-[@]/)-------, ____ `^^^^^^^^^^^^ /========================| : U .:|=======" / /\ WARD \/ wa...@cs.unlv.edu `.(===):' ( ==/=*~) \---/ \/____/

Pay 2 pool and get as much blood as you have controled Giovanni. Put that blood on the card and then move 1 blood to a Giovanni during a master phase (spirit wise I figure it as your master) So you break even with 2 Giovanni and gain pool if more. Also this card is not unique, so you can keep this up. The only weak thing about this card is you need to protect it. I think its a good card (not awesome but a solid card) Especially if your playing Intercept combat<g>. REF

Rack and Feeding Razor also help. This card gives you another source to refill your vampires. If you have 3+ Giovanni you still gain pool if its not destroyed. Now I know this is not nearly as good as a Hunting Ground, but I still wouldn't classify it as wallpaper. REF

A source inferior to 5th trad, voter capivation, taste of vitae and old fashioned hunting. Not to mention the rack and feeding razor and the Discotek and restoration. If you are looking to gain pool over time then use a Short Term or Protracted investment, better yet use Ascendance and get your 1 pool immediately instead of wasting blood dolls and 3 turns. >I still wouldn't classify it as wallpaper. Nothing is REALLY wallpaper except Concealed Weapon and Chainsaw without house rules. Cards which have no realistic use are so called "worthless" or "wallpaper". If you have 3+ Giovanni and it isn't destroyed is just too many ifs to be worthwhile. People will destroy it if you have enough Giovanni to make it worthwhile.

Ascendance is the biggest waste of a master card action known to man. Protracted Investment probably makes number two. Better ways to get pool are not limited to: 5th Trad. + Minion Tap (add Golconda and Soul Gem to taste) Parity Shift Anathema Sacrificial Lamb Edge *Certainly* Blood Doll + HG, Rack, Navar McClaren hunting. It keeps on giving and frees you up to do other stuff. Blood Doll has the versatility to keep blood on your vampires as needed, *or* feed you. It's true I include it in fewer and fewer decks, but it still beats the crap out of Ascendance. TJH

GOd does this thread piss me off, AVA is a fucking stupid card! anyone with half a brain can see that AVA is 1/3 as good a a simple hunting ground. And Hunting grounds are not that good of a card they would be classified as a decsent card Say you did have 4 Giovanni out (yeah right 4 giovanni out at one time?) NET GAIN (2 pool) (4 turns) Short term invest NET GAIN (2 pool) (cant be destroyed) (3turns) Clearly SHort term inv. a common card is far better than AVA. Damn you people please pull your head out of your ass. Personally I think thats more then a bit wierd, but with that rule you can collect pretty fast. REF

NET GAIN (2 pool) (4 turns) Now it is net gain 2 pool in ONE turn (in a four player game) It is possible to have a lot of Giovanni out if you have a couple embraces. You can move one blood off during each and every master phase not just your own. You can play AVA and immediately take one blood off, put it on a blood doll and remove it. You are guaranteed to get 2 blood off before ANYONE has a chance to burn it and by then it isn't worth their effort.

Hull" <t...@nwlink.com> wrote: > Ascendance is the biggest waste of a master card action known to man. > Protracted Investment probably makes number two. Better ways to get > pool are not limited to: Ascendence has the result of being able to be used immediately. In a precarious position where you cannot afford to lose the blood from a blood doll, can't afford the Investment, etc., Ascendence is useful. Protracted Investment has less of a percentage payback then Short Term, but in a deck with fewer masters, a Protracted investment is less card intensive. Certainly two short term is better than one protracted investment in terms of blood gain, but the protracted takes seven turns to finish up, while the Short Term takes eight. In terms of a single card: Card Blood Gain Time Spent Ascendence 1 1 Short Term 2 4 Protracted 3 7 This seems reasonable. > 5th Trad. + Minion Tap (add Golconda and Soul Gem to taste) You must minion tap first, and your 5th tradition could be blocked. It takes an action to use 5th Tradition. Golconda Loses a Vampire, and the Soul Gem is not a guaranteer of a new vampires. > Parity Shift A vote that needs to be passed, and can only be called if you are losing to another methuselah. > Anathema Another vote. Requires combat with another minion that you are not necesarrily going to win. Other methuselahs may get the benefit instead of you. > Sacrificial Lamb Can be blocked. Ascendence may be less useful in a broad sense then some of the other examples above, but it is by no means a bad card. Its practical use is more limited comparatively. This card can be used every master turn, not even your own. It is not unique. It is different, but just as good as a hunting ground. In some respects more, in some less. > And Hunting grounds are not that good of a card they would be > classified as a decsent card Really? A number of blood gain decks and combat decks might disagree. > Say you did have 4 Giovanni out (yeah right 4 giovanni out at one > time?) NET GAIN (2 pool) (4 turns) Net gain: 2 pool, finished during your great-grand-prey's turn. I have gotten out more than 4 Giovanni, and that was with a quickly constructed deck made on November 29th (my birthday, and the release day of DS). Even though it wasn't tuned, it occasionally got out more than 4. > Short term invest NET GAIN (2 pool) (cant be destroyed) (3turns) Four turns.
