Prince of Berlin

Methusalems, the third constructed tournament in Berlin was a good success. 12 players attended, special guests were the Prince of Szczechin and the new Prince of Braunschweig. Only six players were from my domain but I hope that interest will increase in the future. Having three 4-player-tables and using the Multiplayer-Judge-System the tournament lasted only 7 hours and 15 minutes. During the preliminary rounds only one game was not finished during the timelimit and the final lasted only 44 minutes! I am sure that this is a new record. Congratulations to Lubomir Matecka whos weenies overran his enemies with no problems. The atmosphere was quite good. No big rule-discussions, no bad losers or unsportsmanlike behaviour. Here are the rankings: 1. Lubomir Matecka 11/4/138 "Silent Presentation" - Weenie Bleed 2. Marek Staude 5,5/1/144 Mixed Deck - Bleed/Stealth 3. Pawel Wohlert 6/0/156 Malkavian antitribu - Politics 4. Matthias Knoll 6/0/148 Malkavian antitribu - Clan-Deck 5. Ralf Blobelt 4/0/106 Lasombra+Democritus - Politics 6. Bogusz Komarzynski 3/-/106 "Sabbat´s Ventrue Revenge" - Clan-Deck 7. Alexander Altomirianos 2,5/-/136 "Surrender or Die" - Euro-Brujah 8. Sebastian Schlick 1/-/84 "The Mighty Gangrel" - Clan-Deck 9. Alfred Behrends 0,5/-/82 "Raptor´s Delight" - Intercept/Combat 10. Stefan Häusler 0/-/74 Ravnos - Clan-Deck 11. Robert Tscharke 0/-/74 Mixed Camarilla Deck - Bleed/Stealth 12. Christian Rothe 0/-/48 Followers of Set - Clan-Deck Instead of describing single games I am giving some general informations about the tournament and experiences in my domain and area. - Simple Bleed tactics are still one of the most effective ways to victory. - Even after FN I have not seen any effective Independent Clan-Decks in my domain. - Some Sabbat-Clans seem to be of very low interest (Nosferatu!, Gangrel!, Tremere!) - Is the "Optimal Seating Order" in the ARCHON optimal? During this tournament I have played two times against player 5+9 but never against 1+3+8+11. Anybody uses another system which is "better"? - If there is no comp around so you cannot use the ARCHON, index-cards for every player are very recommendable. Thanks to Mystery Island and White Wolf. Special thanks to Anam Stubbington. Hospitality, Alexander; Prince of Berlin >> Welcome to my house. Come freely, go safely...<<

For one person (you) not to play against any player twice (so that you get to see 9 other players), others would have to repeat pairwise even more often. You're welcome to try to come up with a more "optimal" arrangement, of course. If you find one, send it in to me so the seating charts can be updated. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
