Did anyone see the following from the anarchs preview? And is anyone going back to rethink some decks now? "Politics works the same way in Anarchs as it always has, except that the rule against replacing cards during a referendum has been dropped. Cards are replaced during a referendum as normal."

I don't quite see a major deck rethink, but the wording hints that you can cycle multiple political action cards in a vote (like the old rules) but only the first counts as a vote...is this correct? Still seems cool to me though JK -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG

No, it means that when you play Bewitching Oration, you replace it immediately. It doesn't give you the ability to play any cards you weren't able to play before. The only noticeable effect it has on the game is it makes it a little easier to cycle into a Voter Captivation or Delaying Tactics. -- -Snapcase

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct. The wording is the same as the current rules in regards to how many PA cards a Methuselah can play/burn: one. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Well, as I'm sure LSJ already knows, it doesn't necessarily help you cycle into a Voter Captivation too much unless you're playing cards you draw to replace during the referendum (since you could already replace and then play the Voter Cap before this change). Which makes the awe/bewitching/tel vote counting/bribes/scorn/melpominee something or other and THEN voter cap deck all the more viable now. Not to mention the dread gaze/kindred coercion/pulling strings/surprise influence/ventrue network thingy and political backlash deck. T

I'm certainly pro the new voting rule, if for no other reason than the "no redraw" aspect of a referendum was non intuitive (as the rest of the game goes), was clearly an attempt to hobble to previous vote push rules, and was pretty much irelevant (in terms of necessity) in the current rules set. While I certainly approve of the rules update, I'm not seeing it have a particularly huge impact on play, generally speaking (other than, well, not having to remember to not redraw during a vote)--it'll certainly help cycling in presence based vote decks, but I'm not seeing it being particularly huge, in terms of overall game effect.
