Well, as mentioned in the subject line, I am 100% sure this doesn't
work, but why not?
Malkavian Prank
Type: Master
Requires: Malkavian
Master.
Each other Methuselah holds between 1 and 4 counters inclusive in his
or her hand. *Guess the number of counters in each Methuselah's hand*.
If you guess correctly, you gain that much pool from his or her pool.
If you guess incorrectly, that Methuselah gains that much pool from
the blood bank.
Revelations
Type: Action
Requires: Auspex
Cost: 1 blood
+1 stealth action.
[aus] (D) Look at your prey's hand. He or she discards a card of your
choice.
[AUS] Put this card in play. **Your prey plays with an open hand.**
Any minion may burn this card as a (D) action.
Guessing the amount of counters in an open hand correctly is, well,
hardly challenging.
To come back to the question: give me a reason why this wouldn't work.
"Hand" seems to be badly addressed variable or something ;)

Open hand means something else in card games. VTES is a card game.

For the same reason your hand (at the end of your arm) doesn't actually
grow larger when you play an Elder Library, or the same reason you don't
have to chop off your hand and throw it away when you play Deal with the
Devil[1].
[1] Assuming anyone ever actually did play DwtD.

Because either by a misunderstanding of 'open hand' due to a language
barrier (non-native English speaker?), or due to overly-twinkish tendencies,
you do not realize that 'playing with an open hand' refers to playing such
that all other players are able to see the cards in your hand, and nothing
more.

...and not legal, regardless of whether Revelations is in play.

No. 'Playing with an open hand' is a commonly understood phrase, which you
just happened to misunderstand...

At a Jyhad draft last Saturday in Baltimore, I almost was tempted to draft
a Deal With the Devil. Wouldn't have been so terrible, because I was
picking up a fair amount of anti-vote tech and if my hand filled up with
it and I had DWtD and nobody was voting...well, I guess you can see why I
ended up not taking it.
Another player said he was jammed on something and hoped he'd draw his
Deal soon, but he got ousted first. Nobody had a hatchet, so we had to be
satisfied with breaking his fingers in the doorjam.

obviously you can hold the counters in your left hand when you're
playing cards with the other! ;)
-Bram Vink
Hmm, if that's the case, does superior revelations mean you can just
play with your non card-holding hand open? (as in: not a fist :P)

I think that this is a great deterrent for people who insist on playing
Deal with the Devil.

I laughed really hard on this. Sufficiently creative and funny idea to
cheer me up. Something not achieved easily... ;)

Same here. And even more funny are some responses to the post, saying
"oh, you're logic is incorrect dude".
