It's probably not a new idea, but maybe it's a good idea to simplify the Strike:Dodge rule so it cancels opponent's strike. This has the following benefits: 1. It can be used against steal, S:CE and similar strikes 2. It makes the game easier to explain to newbies 3. It makes the game more logical: why should it NOT be possible to dodge a shattering blow (for instance)?

[ quoted text not captured ] Uhm.. correct me if I'm wrong.. but doesn't Strike: Dodge already work this way? I was under the impression that "Dodge" basically translated to "Cancel the effect of opponent's strike.", except that Strike: Combat Ends can not be dodged (nor things like Scorpion Sting, but that's card-text specific). But you can dodge Steal/Destroy Equipment strikes, surely.

But so would doing away with intercept, aggravated damage, and torpor. That doesn't necessarily mean that doing so is a good idea. Explain it this way: dodge cancels the effects of the opponent's strike on the dodger (but not his retainers). > 3. The "cancel opponent's strike" is not more logical when refering to a self-destructive strike: why would dodging a grenade return the grenade, intact and with the pin restored, to the vampire who threw it? -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
