i am sorting out my conferences for next year, and i want to combine them with as much vampy action as is possible. There's a nucleic acids Gordon conference in New hampshire, and if i get accepted for it i hope to stay on for a bit and visit David tatu and his merry band in Atlanta. i'd like to get out to LA too, but i'm not sure if the university can do without me for that long .... hehehe .... yes, i AM trying to skive off tedious boring exam crap. Rob Treasure i know is also keen to cross the pond this year and subject you all to his unique brand of CCG terror. Anyway what i'm wondering aloud about, for Rob's benefit as much as mine, is whether y'all already KNOW what DCI sanctioned events you are likely to be mounting around the end of June to the middle of July, which is roughly when we will be coming over, if all goes according to plan. It would be nice if we could have some kind of meeting between some of the european players and US players where we could play a variety of different vampire games [that's speaking for myself. i think Rob would be happy with just constructed-deck format]. i also want to revive my Czech collaborations, mainly for scientific reasons, obviously, but also so that i can come over to central europe and play with the Austrian, Czech and slovak players, plus any Germans who live near enough for a bit of fun. Same request, really. Do any of you guys know what out-of-term [June-August] tournaments you are likely to be mounting? Finally, Lady Legbiter has a collaboration with Cecilia Arraiano at the ICQB near Lisbon, and if she gets her grant renewed which is quite likely then we will visit there, too, at a more-or-less infinitely flexible time. If we knew that the VERY large lisbon group was playing vampires on a particular day, then we could make sure to include it in our visit. Any replies, to the NG or to james.m...@port.ac.uk gratefully received, and will be passed on to Rob. i dunno what Matthew [Green's] plans are this year but i know he buzzes all round the world playing the Other Game so i will also pass any info on to him. The Evil One

Legbiter, I will almost certainly be running "Praxis Seizure: New Jersey", this time time to cooincide appropriately with Praxis World '99. My plan is to do this at MonCon in Tinton Falls, NJ, on April 1, 2000. MonCon is a full featured gaming convention in Monmouth County, NJ. I'll also be running "Crusade: New Jersey" at Shore Con 2000, which will be sometime in September 2000, in Cherry Hill, NJ. The date of this convention has not yet been announced... The annual Dragon*Con Dragon's Breath tournament will be held in Atlanta in that time frame. Dragon*Con 2000 will be held June 29 - July 2 in Atlanta. The Dragon's Breath tournament will be on Saturday (July 1). Typically some other V:TES events are also held at other times during the convention, but nothing's been set up so far. Madman2001

The largest US gaming convention is held in Columbus Ohio during the weekend of (I believe) July 6 - 9 this year. To be sure, check out www.andonunlimited.com website (a fully owned subsidiary of WotC, er, Hasbro). There is almost always a V:TES tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Friday one being a Draft tourney. See you there?? Why only the US? We might be the loyal colony (okay, the loyal separatist colony), but don't take us for granted. That's one of the things that made the rebel colonies, well, rebel. New Hampshire is much closer to Montréal than to Atlanta. Go there if you want, but you HAVE to come here. I mean, we are a big vampire city. We even have Italian restaurants named Da Giovanni. (I don't recommend their food much though, small portions, not that special, and highly-priced). On the subject of DCI sanctioned events, or any kind of event, I already know there won't be any, possibly ever, but we could get together with the Freds and some others we know. If you don't mind the accent much, we'd love to "Gangue up on yoo and torper yoo wit our unded strent. Stie." As for asking me to go meet you in Atlanta, forget it, I can't enter the States. >around the end of June to the middle of July, Hey, great time to come to Montréal. F1 race, lots of Germans and Brits, hot summer starting, skimpy clothing, hockey team not even in the series, beer flowing freely (well, cheaply), and two national holidays a week apart. Plus a small celebration on the 4th of July and a large one on the 14th. Did I forget to mention the scantily clad girls? (and guys...) Best of all? Winter's gone. >Any replies, to the NG or to james.m...@port.ac.uk gratefully >received, and will be passed on to Rob. i dunno what Matthew [Green's] >plans are this year but i know he buzzes all round the world playing the >Other Game so i will also pass any info on to him. Hey, Rob and Matt are invited too. The Other Game community is very large in Montréal, and as for Rob, we'll deal with his deck in the real CanadoQuébécois way, get him so drunk he'll forget what cards are in it. Hey, we'll even pay his beer. Bleu

Why only the US? Cos i can get paid to go to conferences there, and have a standing invite to visit the Atlanta bros. i stood 'em up last year due to presure of teaching work. This year is easier for me. We might be the loyal colony (okay, the loyal separatist > colony), but don't take us for granted. That's one of the things that made the > rebel colonies, well, rebel. > New Hampshire is much closer to Montréal than to Atlanta. Go there if you > want, but you HAVE to come here. Alright, i'll fly out to montreal, go on to Boston, and then go on to Atlanta. Wouldn't want any regrettable tea-dumping incidents to compromise the pristine waters of the St Lawrence. I mean, we are a big vampire city. We even > have Italian restaurants named Da Giovanni. (I don't recommend their food much > though, small portions, not that special, and highly-priced). Yeah, it features in story 3 as i recall. > > On the subject of DCI sanctioned events, or any kind of event, I already know > there won't be any, possibly ever, but we could get together with the Freds > and some others we know. Not sure about the undead strength though. i guess it's better than being on the receiving end of one of your anti- predator decks. > As for asking me to go meet you in Atlanta, forget it, I can't enter the > States. > > >around the end of June to the middle of July, > > Hey, great time to come to Montréal.
