Is there going to be any information about the EK clans before hand? Just wondering are the new african vampires going to belong into new clans or will they belong to the same clans as their european brethren? -- Powerbase: Turku http://www.tenerdo.org/

A great deal of information on the EK clans can be found in Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom (WW 2441) [ quoted text not captured ]

My question is: "will we finally get some Salubri Antitribu who DON'T TOTALLY SUCK?" ;). The Worst Clan In the Game (tm) is awaiting developments on this with breathless anticipation... More Bloodlines! Yay! My favorite VTES expansion is getting extra goodies! Much rejoicing. //Petri

I got the book myself. I just would like to know are the legacies going to be separate clans in V:TES. I personally would like them to belong to their respective european clans as all of the legacies have a distinct super-saharan counterpart. [ quoted text not captured ]

I do remember an early game out at my place when I was playing Lambach and did put a War Ghoul on the table. Thought maybe it'd made some impression in your formative years or something. ;) [ quoted text not captured ]

I would imagine that in the (say) two months preceding release, titbits and teasers will be previewed on the website, as has happened with a number of other releases. I'd also imagine that it's quite possible that - right now - the exact integration of bloodlines into clans or having them as separate clans may or may not be settled. Playtesting may well still be going on, and it's quite possible that feedback from that will influence decisions one way or other other. -- James Coupe "Why do so many talented people turn out to be sexual PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D deviants? Out of a deep concern for your well-being and in an effort to stave off your death, I'll spoil a bit. There are several names that you'll recognize that participated in the creation of the Player's Guide. I'll let them come forward on their own if they care to (otherwise you'll just have to read their names in the credits). -Robert

And please don't make the possible new !Salubri Vamps Group 4. //T

Cause you know, everyone's got 8 war ghouls just laying around. Ankur

On a tangent, I didn't notice at first that the Abominations couldn't all be played together. *sigh* Cant do the x4 Allonzo, Lorrie, Pariah deck or even mix Lorrie and Pariah together at all, true shame. Oh well, more incentive to do x6 Allonzo/Lorrie, x6 Allonzo/Pariah, I suppose.

But now there's two cards that can cancel grapple, and I think this significantly changes the efficacy of !Sal combat (with the efficacy of combat as a path to victory still left as an open question). Now, if you discount considering Valeran, and instead note the general poorness of the !Sal crypt, then it becomes a question of whether we see decent !Sal vampires. > !Salubri gained something important from KMW: lost the title of worst > clan in the game to the Abominations. Heh. I'm not sure that's entirely clear. It's hard, for me at least, to assess the overall impact of kick ass specials. And two of the three clearly have powerful cardless, in-built abilities. Pariah is pretty poor, but it's as easy to look at him as a lone outlier as it is to call him one third of the bloodline. [ quoted text not captured ]

Why would anyone discount considering Valeren (sorry I misspelled this above), though? Assume that Valeren was a real discipline in effectiveness; would the current crop of !Salubri be badly designed? There may be something wrong with having a clan with caps of 2, 3, 4, 4, and 7 in general as there's just not much you can do with that in terms of discipline concentration or votes and only so much you can do with powerful specials, but, in isolation, the !Salubri we have fit within standard design parameters, right? Suppose they had Spiritus or Mytherceria instead of Valeren, would there be something wrong with them? (I'm thinking that no one is going to buy into the idea that them having Dominate, Protean, or whatever instead of Valeren would be a fair point.) Sure, it's possible to work around the awfulness of Valeren in designing new !Salubri, but isn't it a bit strange to have a discipline in the game that essentially will get ignored? Alternatively, if the design caters specifically to Valeren - "Belinda can make melee weapon strikes at long range." or whatever, isn't that kind of boring since the vampire will tend to have only one use? I have no issue with new !Salubri that seem better, but fixing Valeren not only helps the new gals (whenever they get made), it fixes the old too making a larger percentage of the card pool usable.

I just meant that, even if you made Valeren good, you'd still have a problem with the vampires. The new set might fix both. > Sure, it's possible to work around the awfulness of Valeren in > designing new !Salubri, but isn't it a bit strange to have a > discipline in the game that essentially will get ignored? Oh man, that was funny! You know who I am.... does the word "Quietus" ring any bells? :) Of course, I'm just speaking historically. Quietus has a few new usable cards. [ quoted text not captured ]
