heya -- so, i tried to dig up the answer for this one myself, before bugging you all with it... the closest relevant discourse i could find was this: > Oops, I also forgot, what if you equip with a unique piece of equipment > that another of your vampires already controls?.... The he gets the equipment, which becomes contested as normal. During your next untap (if you still control both minions), you must pay to contest or choose to yield each copy of the contested card in turn. If you yield all but one (a standard choice), the you must pay 1 pool to contest the one copy you wish to keep and burn the rest. Then, on your *following* untap phase, you turn the equipment face up. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. (*) - Subject to review by Rules Team so, my question[s] is / are as follows: -- what happens when you use the vast wealth action to equip with something from your library, and you end up hitting an unique piece of equipment that *you* already control [i.e., the eye of hazimel, the ivory bow, et cetera]...? the ruling i found above would appear to have been rendered when it was still legal to contest cards you contrtolled [ahh, the good old days], so i'm a little unclear as to the result of the vast wealth action in this instance... i'm guessing that the equipment would be burned without effect...? i take it the vampire stays tapped, as well...? the action, however, would still be considered to be "successful," though without effect...? for purposes of freak drive at inferior, for example...? or would you bypass pieces of unique equipment that *you* already contrtol, and keep working your way down your deck...? that'd be cool, so i guess that won't be the answer... :) thanks -- -- khs "eritis sicut dii, scientes bonum et malum..."

as far as i know you cannot contest your own cards and if you would the entering copy will burn as soon as it enters play. right lsj? stefan "kevin scribner" <kevins...@airbridge.net> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:67327703.0402...@posting.google.com... [ quoted text not captured ]

If the equipment cannot be legally placed on the vampire, it is burned without cost. Also: If the Vast Wealth produces an equipment that is illegal for you, it is discarded with no cost. This rule applies for unique items that you already control. What about with Horrid Reality, if I come upon my second Ivory Bow? Does the weapon burn and I've wasted my 2 blood?
