Vox Senis Unique Master Put this card in play. Each Methuselah gets 1 additional vote during each referendum. Alternatively during a referendum, you may discard this card from your hand as an out-of-turn master to gain 3 votes in that referendum. So, Vox Senis is in play. Can someone discard it from their hand to gain 3 votes in a referendum? Does contesting apply? I'm guessing Yes and No because the OOT Vox is not brought into play, but I figured I'd ask.

Uniqueness only affects things in play or being brought into play. Rulebook 1.6.1.4 "Uniqueness" - "If a card is identified as "unique," then only one copy of that card can be in play at a time. If another Methuselah puts a copy of the card into play, the copies will be contested (and out of play) until all but one is yielded (see "Contested Cards," sec. 4.1)." There aren't any other effects of uniqueness in the game, so a copy of Vox Senis being in play has no effect on being able to play Vox Senis as an out-of-turn master. Josh unique new dork

While we're on the subject of Vox Senis, can in the OOT effect be used on a referendum called during your turn? I'm guessin no since there's no card text to indicate that you can, but the "during the referendum" portion has no limitations, so its making me question how this would be ruled. Thanks in advance. Thanks in advance. Unlike some other cards (i.e. Absolution of the Diabolist and Gangrel Conspiracy), the card text for Vox Senis does not specifically allow one to play it during one's turn. Thus the general rules for playing Master OOT's apply (in other words you cannot). Vox Senis does indeed say "during a referendum" but similarly "Burn a minion card as it is played" does not provide an exception for Direct Intervention and "when an opposing minion attempts to inflict aggravated damage" does not allow you to play Rotschreck during your turn even if the condition is met. Thus Vox Senis cannot be played during your turn based solely on that logic. Halcyan 2
