how about a "bouncey-castle" deck: get a prince with DOM out(that's the hard
part) then 2nd trad if tapped (which has the lovely effect of keeping him
untapped, unlike WwEF and FA) and bounce away? use the rack to fuel the
deflections, and bring out pre weenies and do the vote deck thing. or pre or
dom weenies, and do the weenie-bleed-horde thing. sure, rush decks will kill
it, but no more than they would kill anything else. not too many 2nd trads
would be needed anyway (about 15 i suppose?).

You wouldn't want to make the deck strictly deflections because you've got
to handle other things. Right away I see Ventrue lending themselves to the
deck. Also adding Obediences wouldn't be a bad idea. If you go with
ventrue, A few majesties and skin of steels would deal with combat probs.
But as you've said, this deck relies on a prince minimum which may not be
something you could do quick enough to block the brunt of the early bleed.

2nd Tradition requires a block attempt. With +2 intercept, that attempt
will likely succeed. However, if the acting minion gets sufficient
stealth (+3) or otherwise avoids the block (Elder Impersonation, e.g.),
then you would be free to play the deflection.

problem: 2nd tradition has been ruled to be an untapper and blocker,
not just an untapper. in english, that means that if you play 2nd
tradition, you MUST attempt to block with your +2 intercept. If you
then fail, you can bounce with your untapped vamp, but +2 intercept is
more than plenty to block a weenie bleed deck.

Since you must attempt to block with the minion using 2nd Tradition, you'd have
to use something like Obedience to remain untapped after combat ended (via the
Obedience).

Stupid deck alert! make navar a prince. that way he can untap, fail to
block, and, while he has the blood, deflect! woo-hoo!

Hehhe, ferget the prince thing, just use Rat's Warnings. He'll fail alot
easier. He's got animalism and you'd have to boost his capacity anyway to
deal with blood requirements. Once you boosted his cap, a lot of the
minions you attempt to block with would be young enough to block, but with a
rat's warning. Heeeeey, come to think of it this actually works with any
vamp that has ani/dom or ani/DOM... something seems to be coming together
here for dealing wwith a misdirection deck now.

good point. so, is there a concensus that a princely DOM 2nd trad-obedience-
deflection thing might work against weenie misdirection bleed decks while
doing something else, or at least a DOM-ani rat's warning deflection deck?
i'd make it, but i'm too far away from tournaments to have the motivation to
make anything but big slow combo decks... ;]

I think it would work. Most Ventrue decks have been doing it for years.

I haven't seen a tournament in a long long time. My playgroup is 3 states away. And
yet I try to build. It keeps my playgroup on their toes when we get together and
they don't know what to expect. You should try some of those ideas. I've found that
it improves my playgroup, as they have to come up with ideas on how to handle the new
ideas. I have an advantage in that I visit the newsgroup and study winning decks.
They have an advantage in that they come up with new ideas and very unorthodox (and
sometimes just plain odd) decks.
p.
Why don't you try an atonement?? Put it on a low cap vampire, and one untap
is enough
after the misdirection.
