I am sorry if this has been asked before, but anyway, I had always thought that RoE is a d action because it targets my preys minion, but recently it came up in a game and I noticed that it doesn't have the D symbol, so I am wondering if this is a misprint or if it is really an undirected action? I checked too that other d actions from the same set do have the D symbol.

[ quoted text not captured ] By default, any action that targets a vampire is a D action. Comments Welcome, Norman S. Brown, Jr XZealot Archon of the Swamp

[ quoted text not captured ] From the rulebook, 6.2.2.1 - "As a convenience, when a card describes an action that is typically directed at another Methuselah, the card's text will usually include a (D) symbol as a reminder that the action is typically directed." The only exception is if you target multiple cards or counters controlled by other methuselahs, in which case the action becomes undirected. (Though see the new rulings on targets here: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/d635ba197ac84525/480724df2fd804f1?q=(D)+actions+author%3ALSJ&lnk=ol&) -witness1

As you can ONLY target your preys guys with RoE, so it should have the D symbol if it is a d action, similarly to how all bleed actions have the D even when they can also only target your prey by default. So its either a misprint that it doesn't have the D, or its an undirected action.

[ser] (D) Tap one of your prey's ready minions. [SER] As above, and place a corruption counter on that minion. If the number of your corruption counters on the minion equals or exceeds his or her capacity or cost, you may burn those counters to take control of him or her." Since this is updated by LSJ, I would think this would be a confirmation. Even so, the (D) symbol is merely a reminder, and the rules of the game should be followed when determining types of actions: Section 6.2.2 "If the action targets another Methuselah (or something controlled by another Methuselah), then the action is called directed, and the Methuselah who is the target (or controls the target) of the action may use her ready untapped minions to attempt to block the action. If the action is not directed at another Methuselah (or at something controlled by another Methuselah), then the action is called undirected and can be blocked by the acting Methuselah's prey or predator, with the prey getting the first opportunity to block." Even if a card has the (D) symbol on it, it's the actual target that decides what type of action it ends up being. For example, Temptation has the (D) symbol, and if you use it against another Methuselah's minion, it's a Directed Action. But you could use it on one of your own minions. If you do so, the action becomes Undirected, despite the (D) symbol on the card. Conversely, Precognizant Moblity has no (D) symbol, as almost always you'll be using it on your own minions. But, you could untap another Methuselah's minion instead, and the action would then become directed. Chris, Thrall of Arika

If I rescue my vampire, it is undirected and both pred and prey can block. If i rescue cross table buddy's vamp, then only he, Annekke, and Eagles sight or similar can block.

And, since it is a directed action (always, with no option to be undirected at all), it should have the reminder (D) symbol." > similarly to how all bleed actions have the D even when > they can also only target your prey by default. So its either a > misprint that it doesn't have the D, or its an undirected action. It cannot be undirected: it targets your prey.
