A "lighter" question from me about new card interactions:
Josef von Bauren's special ability:
"You may use a discard phase action to discard a card at random from
your predator or prey's hand."
Powerbase: LA's relevant text:
Tap during your discard phase to gain a discard phase action. If you use
that discard phase action to discard a card that requires an anarch or a
card that makes a vampire an anarch, you may untap a ready anarch.
Question:
If I tap my Powerbase LA to use Josef's ability, and the card my prey
discards at random is a card that requires an anarch, can I untap an
anarch?

Also, how does Josef's ability interact with Port Authority?
Port Authority
Type: Event
Government.
When a Methuselah uses a discard phase action to discard a card, he or
she doesn't draw to replace that card until his or her next untap
phase.

Josef + Port Authority doesn't work as the Methuselah discarding isn't
using a DPA to discard a card.

Well, that would be a logic conclusion, yes. However, technically, the
Methuselah *is* using a DPA to discard a card, because that's how
Josef's text is written: "You may use a discard phase action to
discard a card at random from your predator or prey's hand." Notice
the exact same wording as Port Authority.

Yeah, but the Methuselah who discards the card isn't using a DPA, the
Methuselah controlling Josef is using the DPA, thus Port Authority
doesn't function.

The Methuselah doubly doesn't draw to replace the card. Both from PA's effect
and from the fact that she wouldn't draw anyhow, since the discarded card didn't
come out of her hand.
The prey (or predator as the case may be) replaces as normal, since no effect
says otherwise.
