hello everybody, I'm a big fan of vampire the eternal struggle, I've been playing for about three years now. Recently I picked up the idea from someone to play the rpg, vampire the masquerade. Has anybody on this newsgroup played this rpg and what do you think of it? Perhaps you have some recommendations or ideas to a starting player. BTW, are the rules for vampire the masq. available on the internet? thanks, Jan Willem.

[ quoted text not captured ] White Wolf (the maker of Vampire: The Masquerade rpg as well as other rpgs set in the same "universe") is discussed on the alt.games.whitewolf newsgroup and in the rec.games.frp.misc newsgroup. The introductory rules for V:TM are available on White Wolf's web site at http://www.white-wolf.com/v3DQuickstarthtml/html/v3qs_p1.html and in PDF form at http://www.white-wolf.com/V3_Quick_Start.pdf See White Wolf's web page for more information: http://www.white-wolf.com/ -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. it's a pretty good game, the live action version (minds eye theater) is by far better if you can get 15+ people together monthy or so. but the table to version is nice. as rpg's go it's well constucted, a little vauge on the rule in places and can be made complex. But overall it's simpler by far then ad&d. you may also want to check out some of the other white wolf world of darkness games, Mage, Wraith, Rage,... etc. wijsman wrote: > hello everybody, > I'm a big fan of vampire the eternal struggle, I've been playing for > about three years now. I ran Vampire: the Masquerade for about four years before some friends and I decided to have a shot at Jyhad. Love 'em both. Check out my web page for some material on V:tM, http://www3.cybercities.com/s/scurra/ under the roleplaying section.

Forget about the hardbound rule book. I was in a store that sells Jyhad cards, blah blah blah, and they had a Masquerade introductory kit. It is basically a stripped down version of the game and it's FREE. It is similar to Jyhad in that there are only basic and advanced skills. You can easily make up the whole cast from Jyhad. The "real" rule book makes the game too cluttered with so many traits and abilities. The player's guide adds to this clutter. They are cool to read but as a game it is quite sloppy. I suggest you get this free introductory kit for a taste of the game and if you think you can handle it, move on to the "real"game. Jeff
