Having some discussions of this on JOL that are not conclusive, wanting the official word. Minion A bleeds. Minion B tries to block. Minion A plays a Faceless Night at superior. Can Minion A play a Telepathic Misdirection at superior to flick at this point or would he need to play a wake of some kind? simcof

[ quoted text not captured ] Minion A may play Telepathic Misdirection or any other reaction card because he is not tapped until the action resolves. Pertinent card text: "becomes tapped when the action is resolved" The action isn't over, so the 'blocker' is not yet tapped. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/index.php?line=cardlist Faceless Night [Jyhad:C, VTES:C, CE:C/PM4, BH:PM4/PN4, KMW:PB3, Third:C] Cardtype: Action Modifier Discipline: Obfuscate [obf] +1 stealth. [OBF] +1 stealth, and any minion who attempts to block this action and fails becomes tapped when the action is resolved (before resolving the action). Artist: Harold Arthur McNeill Carpe noctem. [ quoted text not captured ] Lasombra, Don't want to sound contrary, but from LSJ's reply to a question posted last September, it would seem that once you declare the action not blocked, the Failed Blocker/s are tapped. Since you automatically declare no blocks by playing a flick card, the minions would tap before the flick could be played. I understand the post I refer to is a "pre" vs "post" resolution effect reply, but it does include the "all blocks declined ---> action reaches resolution step". When "everyone" declares it unblocked. The action is still continuing when you bounce it. > Since you automatically >declare no blocks by playing a flick card, the minions would tap >before the flick could be played. The parallel you want to search for is Deflection, not Familial Bond. No. Faceless Night taps the failed blockers when the action resolves. (card text). > Since you automatically > declare no blocks by playing a flick card, the minions would tap > before the flick could be played. Well, you implicitly declare no blocks, yeah. But only because flicks cannot be played until after all blocks are declined. > I understand the post I refer to is > a "pre" vs "post" resolution effect reply, but it does include the > "all blocks declined ---> action reaches resolution step". > > Link to post...http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/bd76... That simplified line suffices for the question at hand in that post, sure. Read the arrow as "leads to" or "implies in this case that". It is used to uncover the useful information for answering that question. But see also the ability to play Conditioning after all blocks are declined.

Correct.
