We had a question come up the other night about the declaration of addtional strikes. If the acting minion declines to generate additional strikes, can they change their mind after the blocking minion declares that they are generating additional strikes? This was the situation: Acting minion declined to generate additional strikes. Blocking minion stated that they were going to generate additional strikes. Acting minion wanted to respond to blocking minion's declaration with additional strikes of their own. Is this allowable? Thanks Doug

[ quoted text not captured ] Because the rules say so: per rulebook section 6.4.3 under "Additional Strikes": "The acting minion decides whether or not to gain additional strikes before the opposing minion" Just as the acting minion doesn't get to wait to see what the blocking minion's strike is before committing to his own, he must also decide if he is using additional strikes before the blocker does. -John Flournoy

[ quoted text not captured ] There's nothing to prevent the acting minion from waiting to see if the blocking minion plays prerange cards to play his own, though, right? Or playing more prerange after the blocking minion has played some? Kushiel

If the blocking minion plays a prerange card, the acting minion may then play one or more in response, but if the acting minion passes, and the blocking minion passes, the acting minion does not get another chance. Ditto with manuevers and presses. --Colin McGuigan
