Just want to check before I get all crazy with the diablerie. There's no set timing on the "burn this card to cancel a blood hunt on a Brujah antitribu" clause of this card, correct? So I can wait and see if it looks like the !Brujah is going to be burned before burning the Dogs? John Eno

[ quoted text not captured ] Another question, do you burn Dogs of War out of you hand, or do you burn Dogs of War once it passes the vote and is on the table. Or, can you burn it under both conditions to cancel a bloodhunt? Comments Welcome, Norman S. Brown, Jr XZealot Archon of the Swamp

You have to use it after the referendum passes and before the vampire is burned by the blood hunt. > > So I can wait and see > > if it looks like the !Brujah is going to be burned before burning the > > Dogs? Yes, and ony then. > Another question, do you burn Dogs of War out of you hand, or do you > burn Dogs of War once it passes the vote and is on the table. Is that so with all effects that prevent a blood hunt?

[ quoted text not captured ] A common misconception is that the referendum _is_ the bloodhunt. This is not so. A referendum is called, and if it passes, there is a bloodhunt on the vampire, which burns it. So anything that cancels a bloodhunt can only do so after the referendum has been called, and is found to be successful. Because before that time there is no bloodhunt to cancel. See page 44 of the 3rd Ed Rulebook. (6.5.6) -- salem http://users.tpg.com.au/adsltqna/vtes/ (replace 'hotmail' with 'yahoo' to email)

[ quoted text not captured ] It is so with effects that cancel a blood hunt, subject to other card text. Card text of "blood hunt" means the blood hunt. Card text of "blood hunt referendum" or similar is used to refer to the blood hunt referendum. http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulebook/rulebook.html#sec6_5_6 http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/Cardlist_F#Fire_on_the_Mountain

Ah, okay. If I weren't dumb, I probably could've figured that out myself by, y'know, reading the card more closely. Thanks, LSJ. John Eno
