1) Can i play Ritual of Bitter Rose when diablerizing a vampire that tried to leave torpor? 2) Can i play RoBR before a bloodhunt is called? And will it have any effect? 3) Can i use Heidelburg Castle before a bloodhunt is called? I remember someone answering no to that question. But I also remember another person saying that any master card (i.e. Fragment of book of Nood) can be tap during an action, to gain advantage of it's privilege. GP41

The diablerizing minion isn't acting, and isn't in combat, so no. Alas. Special cardtext would be required (or a reaction symbol added to the action modifier/combat symbols). >2) Can i play RoBR before a bloodhunt is called? And will it have any >effect? Yes, and yes. >3) Can i use Heidelburg Castle before a bloodhunt is called? I >remember someone answering no to that question. Heidelberg Castle has specific cardtext restricting when it can be tapped, however: "Cannot be used during an action." (errata). Section 6.5.5 of the revised rulebook gives 5 steps to the resolution of diablerie: 1-Move all blood to the diablerist 2-Diablerist may take equipment 3-Victim is burned 4-Diablerist may gain a Discipline card if victim is older 5-Bloodhunt may be called. Since this is part of the 'Diablerize in torpor' action, it's clear you cannot use Heidelburg before the Bloodhunt if you're sending in your vampire to diablerize as an action. For diablerie a a result of blocking a self-rescue attempt (or Rapid Healing, or Regeneration, or Movement of the Slow Body), things are less clear, but I'd hazard that diablerie as a result of blocking is similar to combat as a result of blocking, hence part of the action, hence no Heidelburg. gomi -- "I wanted to feel that tug of a body as it jerks and kicks while I hold the handle and the life erupts from it like water from the cold springs of the Eastern Mountains. That's what I wanted, and what you want makes you who you are." - Steven Brust, Teckla
