Our playgroup has some questions that need answering: If a minion strikes with zip gun and the other vampire decides not to prevent the one damage dealt by the zip gun, can the victim still play prevention cards if the gun damage then gets modified by dragon breath, or has he forfeited his chance when he gave up preventing the 1 damage originally by the zip gun? Can a Delaying Tactics be played at the end of a referendum? For instance if a vote passes that a Meth. doesn’t want passed can he then play Delaying? Malkavian Prank-Can a player tell another player “across the table” to pick 4 pool(for example) and the Prankster declare 1-3 pool to that to give that player 4 pool? Just wondering how you rule it. If a minion bleeds with Govern and no one blocks can he then mask it to another vampire, using inferior mask, and then attempt to bleed again? (Since I am assuming he is not considered to be the acting minion of the Govern, yes) Trap- if 1 Trap were the only card played in a combat and assuming the vampires had enough blood, would the combat reach round 3 or 4? Legacy of Caine- If a vampire has 3 Legacys on it, does it steal 3 blood when hunting or just 1? “Equipment is always optional only as the equipment affects the bearer.” How does this apply to Writ of acceptance? Can a Sabbat vampire become a prince with the writ then shut it off and play a monomancy? What about in reference to a Protect thine own? If a vampire bleeds with Return to Innocence and the bleed is countered does the vampire get the blood back for the Return? Also can a vampire play a spying mission on a Return? And if so, does the vampire burn? thanks for your patience, Dave Stevers -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading

Well, I'm not LSJ, so my answers are unofficial, but I'm pretty sure they're right. > Our playgroup has some questions that need answering: > > If a minion strikes with zip gun and the other vampire decides not to > prevent the one damage dealt by the zip gun, can the victim still play > prevention cards if the gun damage then gets modified by dragon breath, or > has he forfeited his chance when he gave up preventing the 1 damage > originally by the zip gun? > You must play ammo cards before the damage is applied. What happens is: both players declare strikes(acting minion first), both players have an opportunity to modify their strikes(Claws, ammo, etc.), then both strikes resolve, and any damage that isn't prevented is dealt. Dodges, First Strike, and S:CE can complicate matters a little, but they don't change the fact that ammo cards are played before damage is applied. > Can a Delaying Tactics be played at the end of a referendum? For instance > if a vote passes that a Meth. doesn’t want passed can he then play Delaying? > It can be played after everyone has cast votes, but before the "end" of the referendum. So... if you know that the vote has passed and you can't do anything to stop it, you can play Delaying Tactics. > Malkavian Prank-Can a player tell another player “across the table” to pick > 4 pool(for example) and the Prankster declare 1-3 pool to that to give that > player 4 pool? Just wondering how you rule it. > Yeah. Wouldn't it be a great prank to tell them to pick 4 pool and then guess 4 pool? 8) > If a minion bleeds with Govern and no one blocks can he then mask it to > another vampire, using inferior mask, and then attempt to bleed again? > (Since I am assuming he is not considered to be the acting minion of the > Govern, yes) > You are correct. Can a Sabbat vampire become a > prince with the writ then shut it off and play a monomancy? What about in > reference to a Protect thine own? > Good question. The "equipment is always optional" rule has always bugged me a little. I don't understand how a Laptop can be optional, but Tasha Morgan is not. Answer from LSJ? > If a vampire bleeds with Return to Innocence and the bleed is countered does > the vampire get the blood back for the Return? Also can a vampire play a > spying mission on a Return? And if so, does the vampire burn? > Well, an old RTR says that a bleed of 0 is unsuccessful. A new RTR recently clarified this to say that you need not pay for a bleed of 0. So... if you play Return to Innocence and your prey uses about 8 Telepathic Counters (or if you use a Scouting Mission), then you need not pay the 4 blood and the vampire does not burn (do not pass go, do not collect $200). I'm violently against this ruling, but hey... what can you do? -Chris [ quoted text not captured ]

Ammo cards work slightly differently than Claws, due to card text. Ammo cards are "Only usable when damage from a gun is being resolved". But, you still must play the ammo during the "apply effects of strike" phase - before any damage is prevented or healed. > > Can a Delaying Tactics be played at the end of a referendum? So... if you know that the vote has passed and you can't do > anything to stop it, you can play Delaying Tactics. Correct. And the end of the referendum must be preceded by a 15-second warning following the last effect used during the referendum. > > Malkavian Prank-Can a player tell another player across the table to pick > > 4 pool(for example) and the Prankster declare 1-3 pool to that to give that > > player 4 pool? Any deals can be struck at any time, but (as Chris points out) the rules do not require you to abide by your deals. > > If a minion bleeds with Govern and no one blocks can he then mask it to > > another vampire, using inferior mask, and then attempt to bleed again? > > (Since I am assuming he is not considered to be the acting minion of the > > Govern, yes) > > > You are correct.
