Hello. Allow me to introduce the new Net.Rep: me. Note the new e-mail address. Please do not use my old e-mail address for official (WotC) queries. I'll post a few answers to posts that have been pending for a while shortly. In the meantime, any questions? :-) -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. (*) - Subject to review by Rules Team

[ quoted text not captured ] CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's about time that WotC did something intelligent. Much luck in your new job! (Are you getting paid for this now?) -- rob. (rfle...@ix.netcom.com) NOTE: If you wish to respond to me via email, please remove the * from the return address!

Congratulations, to both you, and us. I hope we've seen the bottom end of this game, and now things are beginning to look up. I can't believe it took this long for WotC to recognize such an asset. You are being paid, aren't you? (Rhetorical) Michael

Wow, a real live netrep, it's been a while. So, now that I have an empowered audience, is there any chance that Reform Body will be errataed to be playable by a vampire in torpor? I'd really like to see that, though of course there is not yet any precedent for reactions playable from torpor. The reaction-part of the card is almost unusable now, though - the only case I can think of where it could be played as a reaction (rather than a combat card) is if a successful Sacrifice were called on the vamp. So congratulations again - I'm sure it'll be nice to have a rep who's actually "one of us." Josh "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.."

And allow *me* to apologize for the length of time needed to bring LSJ on board. The single longest delay was the time needed to get him an account on our Regency system, since the same overworked folks in our Computing Resources department who handle such accounts also have to deal with all our in-house problems. Funny, that; their manager seems to think WotC's computer problems ought to come first... Anyway, I'm glad to be able to add LSJ to our coterie of Network Representatives, and urge you to welcome him as the "official" voice of Wizards of the Coast for .jyhad and the VTES-L mailing list. -- Charles Keith-Stanley were...@wizards.com Cyberspace Coordinator lia...@wizards.com Wizards of the Coast, Inc. http://www.wizards.com

CONGRATS! This is the best news in... well... um... a... long long long time. Thank you WOTC for finally making a wise decision that will get decent service to those who play Jyhad. To you L. Yes! Scott is the new net-rep!!!! This is the day things start to turn around for support for this game. If Scott can't get us any answers we are truly the bastard children of WotC. Welcome aboard in your new (and well deserved) capacity as the net-rep poobah. We're all here to help you and I know you will be able to keep this rabble in line. I hope that you will exercise the same effort and care in answering our questions now as in the past. I'd like to send my thanks to WotC, to LSJ, to Shawn, and to anyone else involved in this move to finally get V:tES a good deal of the support that it well deserves(feel free to pass that on to Shawn, L. Scott...). Three Cheers! Pass around the Vitae! A renaissance has arrived! (An enthused, and perhaps overly melodramatic gamer) Alec Chang

Scott, for finally getting recognized for the job you basically do anyway. It's nice to be able to settle rules discussions in my group officially now; instead of me saying "It's legal 'cause L. Scott Johnson said it is" and being met with the response "Yeah, well he's not WotC, so it isn't legal!"; now you ARE WotC. Finally, some attention will be brought back to this game (Hopefully!). I'm glad that we can now "get over" some of the bad rulings issued just before "the Great Silence" (in particular, the hand-strike ruling). So I take it you will be toeing the "Rules Team Line" in your rep role, even when you don't cotton to some rulings? As I remember it, you weren't particularly enamored of the "Blood to Water only usable at close range" errata. I was just wondering how much influence your feedback has with the RT. Do the rulings you mark with a '*' actually get discussed at RT meetings? (Are there RT meetings anymore???) --Eric

If not, a reversal will be posted (by me) to the newsgroup. [ quoted text not captured ]

OUTSTANDING! Congrats, Scott! Things are truly beginning to look up, beginning RIGHT NOW. We may not get an expansion this year, but at least we have a better shot at getting good, consistent rules support when we need it. And that's not a bad trade, IMO... bleed on, eric [ quoted text not captured ]

Were there ever? Sometimes I wonder. One Jon Wilkie comment indicated the RT was just Tom Wylie (Tom mode comments at other times indicating he wasn't on the RT then). Also, there have often been just-plain-dumb mistakes in RT rulings which smell like unedited (and hence not team) work. Curt Adams (curt...@aol.com)
