!!!!!!!!!!!
I have recently found a way to make a lot of money in a short period of
time with the large investment of $6.60. Yes, you read correctly. I
thought this was just a scam at first, but I tried it. I am here to
tell you people this....IT WORKS!!!!!! If you think this is just
another hoax, or you do not wish to participate, then thank you for
reading as far as you did. You are the only one who will lose here. If
you are still reading, then grab a pen and paper because I am fixing to
tell you in two easy steps how to make your money problems dissappear.
First thing you need to do is write down the 5 names and addresses
listed below. Once you finish this, I will continue to tell you how to
make your very own small fortune. Here we go:
Dave Joaquim
138 Andover St.
Wilmington, MA. 01887-1241
Chad Harwell
PO Box 531
Lebanon, TX. 37088
Jeremy Patty
272 Big Sky Dr.
St. Charles, MO. 63304
B.J. Smith
4989 South State Rd. 39
Clayton, IN. 46118
J.W. Holmes
PO Box 7031
Alexandria, LA. 71306
Now that you have these written down, get 5 pieces of paper and copy
this same list to each of those 5 pieces of paper and write at the
bottom of each page "Please add me to your mailing list", and add your
name and address underneath. Now place a one dollar bill (cash) inside
each piece of paper and place them in individual envelopes addressed to
the above 5 people. Please put the dollar bill inside the paper so it
will not show through the envelope. Mail these 5 envelopes with the
paper and dollar bill enclosed in each, to the above 5 people. STEP
ONE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!
STEP TWO: Make a new list of the names above, but this time take the
top name off the list, and add your name and address to the bottom.
This will make Chad Harwell the first name on your new list, and yours
the last. Now, add the instructions (as I am doing here) to the bottom
of the page and send it to 200 people, or post it to 200 newsgroups.
HINT!!!!!! The more people you send this to, or the more newsgroups you
post this to, the more people who will see it. Therefore, the better
potential of YOU to see more money.
That is it! Two very simple, legal, quick steps to making you money.
Please dont try to cheat anybody, because somebody will in turn CHEAT
YOU!!! It will happen. This is a great way for us all to help one
another out, and it will only cost you a few buck. What have you got to
lose? Just give it a try! I have this one question for you
all.....Have you ever spent such a small amount of money on the
possibility of such a great return?
THIS CAN AND WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE IF YOU JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE!!!!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaghhhh!! Just when we thought this scam was dying out, they go and
raise it from $5 to $6.60. Are there still people left who fall for this
ILLEGAL and idiotic garbage? Please keep this hokum out of newgroups where
intelligent people hang out. Maybe you should try posting it to
alt.pyramid.idiot.suckers. Maybe someone over there will fall for it.
P.S. to everyone else: sorry for the crosspost, but it takes a crosspost
to counter a crosspost like this that has no real subject other than
"I'm an idiot, and I hope more idiots fall for my idiot scam."

Hopefully, there is a lawyer or two on the list, as you will need one.

You can send a letter to the postmaster@scammers-site, but many of
us would like to see these jerks stop, or at least go to jail.
I talked to the local (USA) legal authorities about this today.
- The US Postal Service cannot do anything, since the offer
was not sent through the US Mail. If you *do* get an offer
through the mail, take it (opened) to your local post office.
They will forward it to the Postal Inspector, who can prosecute.
- The FBI can prosecute them, if there is a victim. So if you
have sent your $5 or $6.60 to one of these scams, you can then
turn them over to the FBI (the FBI is listed in the 'phone
book, generally). If you did not send $, you can print a copy of the
solicitation out and mail it to the FBI. They will put it
on file, and wait for a complaint from someone who actually
fell for it.
What this means, of course, is that you can mail the
crooks some $, and then immediately turn them over to the
FBI. (I asked the FBI if this would work, and they said yes.)
So the next time you see a pyramid scam, you *can* do something
(if the scammers are in the US).

This one has stopped at least, or so I hope. He could fake his
address, but he could not fake these lines:
NNTP-Posting-Host: user1-44.timetrend.com
Date: Mon, 27 Jan 1997 10:37:19 -0800
and this was enough for postm...@timetrend.com to find out
who he was.

Or, you could take the information about the people
in the "mailing list" presented in the body and plug
that information into the Yahoo! People Search
Yahoo! will return the address and home phone number
of the individuals in question (our poster from timetrend
was, not surprisingly, the person at the end of the
list).
This information isn't useful by itself, but it can help
if the people who maintain the account of the would-be felon
are lazy (which is obviously not the case with TimeTrend -
I'm just pointing this information out for general
consumption).

Let me first commend to your tender mercies the "MMF Hall of Humiliation"
website, <http://www.clark.net/pub/rolf/mmf/>, whereon is enshrined a
plethora of e-mail and web spam lusers who have tried (universally
unsuccessfully) to perpetrate such "Make Money Fast" scams as these. The
site's author also recommends a few techniques for making the perps' lives
less than comfortable.
And for those of you in Los Estados Unidos del Norte America, the United
States Postal Service's website contains excellent guidance on identifying
and reporting telemarketing fraud and pyramid schemes. (See
<http://www.usps.gov/websites/depart/inspect/fonetact.htm>,
<http://www.usps.gov/websites/depart/inspect/usc18/mailfr.htm>, and
<http://www.usps.gov/websites/depart/inspect/statutes.htm> for some
specifics, or use the search engine on their site to find "fraud"; it's
VERY complete.)
Similar statutes and remedies are available in most countries, so check
around to see what YOU can do to stop fraud on the internet.
Moreover, if the MMF spammer *is* collecting some funds, don't you think
your country's tax collection authorities ought to be told about it?

Heh, that's the only crime our judicial system is serious about
anymore. Wasn't Al Capone caught with tax evasion instead of the other

Well, if it only costs me $5 to get rid of a spammer, it seems like money welll
spent. Although, before I did this, I would check with state and national
authorities, cause in this state, participation in these schemes is as illegal
as organization unless you were lead to believe it was legal.

The flaw in your assumption is that your $5 will actually get rid of a
spammer, or otherwise further your FBI entrapment scenario. Report it to
the FBI, let *them* hand over the $5. Sure, it's still "your tax money at
work," but if they do the entrapment it's a helluva lot more likely that
they'll do the busting.
