Heya all Iv been playing around with a Baali political deck for around a year or so, Im a huge fan of the new Baali vampires and even that the groups only have a few vampies they just fit together really well, imho. I will gladly post the deck, as it is right now, at some point, but before I do ill like to hear if anyone else have been playing around with this sort of deck. Also if anyone have any good ideas, things to think about or just any kind of input at all. As for now, its not my deck but the idea ill like to hear feedback on, then we can talk about the actul deck later /Jesper

I played a Nergal Reckless Agitation deck for a while (2008) before the introduction of Heirs to the Blood. Every time I played it, my predator was playing some variant of Potence Grapple Rush. The take away for me was not to go there, at the time. www.thelasombra.com/decks/nergal_ra.htm I suspect that my version of the deck could be significantly improved with Tend the Flock and perhaps the Anarch city titles, and of course, Villein instead of Minion Tap. You can find quite a few decks combining Baali and voting, here: RGTCJ Deck Archive

I haven't actually played a "real" Baali votedeck yet, but I have seen a few over the past year and a half or so. The idea seems pretty straigtforward: you bring out Annazir, who then Tends his Flock to get Arishat out. You then have 3 table votes plus Arishats cancel special. After Villeining around a bit and Tending more Flocks, Xeper should join the team bringing you up to 6 table votes plus Arishats cancel special. That plus access to Condemnation: Mute should be enough to have votelock on most tables. Proceed to play lots of Reckless Agitations, Stealth and Voter Caps. Mix in some Unleash Hell's Fury, some I am Legion and a Venefictus and you're good to go. It's a pretty cool deck, no doubt, and can be devastating on the right tables. However, whenever I see someone playing it I'm like "ye or you could just take Marcus Vitel and Lucinde, build a very similar deck and get access to Dominate and Parity Shift. That said, I did play a votedeck with Arishat and Hordes that didn't do exceptionally good, but was insanely fun to play. I'd basically spend 6 pool to get Arishat out and then used almost MPA to Tend the Flock to a Horde. The Hordes would bleed and get Camera Phones and whatnot and then Arishat called a My Kin Against the World to untap all the Hordes so I could do it all again. Path of Evil Revelations payed for the regular untap and if I didn't have one I'd just leave them untapped after My Kin. The cool thing about the Path is, is that you can play it in your masterphase and then use it immediately to get cheap untaps . That's also why people tend to not remove it. I played tons of votepush to get the My Kin done (Bewitching, Perfect Paragon, Old Friends) and if I didn't have a votercap it kinda fell apart, but ye, that was a fun deck.

I've been playing and improving a Gr6 Baali vote for a while now. I do not rely on Tend the Flock because there's no slot for them nor enough MPA, and they force you the get the vampires out in the right order. I get them out manually (hopefully helped by a Dreams of the Sphinx), Villein them then refill them using Voter Captivation. Arishat, Xeper and Annazir are usually enough to have the vote lock, but there's 3 Condemnation:Mute out of 75 cards just in case. I also play some Perfect Paragon for its versatility. Votes are mainly Reckless and Neonate Breach because they are very effective, though the Reckless become useless in 1vs1. Stealth consist mainly of Lost in Crowds and Swallowed by the Night (for the maneuver), and 2 Elder Impersonation. Combat is mainly Force of Personality (because it cycles well) and Staredown (because it's free). Bleed defense is not strong (only Archon Investigation), but you should bloat enough using the Voter Cap and Villein to survive. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

I've played a very successful Baali g5-6 vote deck, but my crypt also included Scout Youngwood. She usually was the third or fourth vamp being influenced, but she fills a hole in a crypt very nicely.

Okay, the reason to try and do it with Baali and not ventrue for me, should be 1: the mage allies 2: Unleash Hells Fury 3 a: He may steal an ally controlled by another Methuselah as a action. 3 b: she may burn 1 blood to force a vampire to abstain 3 c: He may burn a location or steal an equipment as a action. and as an outside 3 d: strike: 2R aggravated damage as a strike that costs 1 blood. If it successfully bleeds, you gain 2 pool. 4: Reckless aggitation I really like the abilitys from the new Baalis, and they come up with answeres to a lot of problems you would usually face duing a tournement, without you needing to comit card in your libary to do it. The deck im playing right now have 2 The Unnamed and 1 basic + 1 adv. nergal in it. The Nergals are gonna go, the Unnamed of, dosent have any votes (unless Xeper is out) but I really like him still. Iv looked at Scout Young Wood as a replacment for Nergal but are proberly gonna try Dmitra Ilyanova and then putting one or two copies of Textbook Damnation, The into the deck. I really like Dmitras ability and would be able to throw in a few more voter cap I can always cycle. About the combat defence I havent really any, I proberly tend to really focus on being aggressiv and then not take that into account, the Nergal deck I played last year at the EC proberly a statement to this: groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/66f0c5ca322de232?pli=1 (the Nergal deck) Im going with quite a few Reckless Agitation and Public Trust cards, combined with Cavalier wich means I can multiact without Freak Drives (but it is really blood costing to do in the long run.) Ill see if I can get a deck list together and post tommorrow.

I played a mix with the Baalis and Scout on one side, and Dmitra/Karen/Graham on the ther. Parity Shift AND Reckless

I am Legion is not very useful neither (1 blood for 1 pool, better play Voter Captivation). 3a b and c are integrated to the vampires, so they are very strong options indeed (at no cost card, except a little more stealth). I was trying to make them multiact to be able to vote AND steal an ally/burn a location, but it's a bit complicated (see www.vekn.net/index.php/forum/7-deck-clinic/2632-baali-5-6-untap#2633) Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

d: was as much "gain two pool if it sucssefull bleed" with Public trust, thats 3 pool gain pr. bleed action, and the 2 R agg is really a stron defensiv ability imho

Izaak

Well ye, sure Unnamed is a pretty good vampire However, it is also a 10-cap with no title, no inherent +bleed and neither a bounce discipline nor an untap discipline. That's a LOT of "things big vampires need to have to be playable" that Unnamed doesn't have. Oh and she costs a pool to untap. Also, your "bleed for 3 and gain 3 pool" is, when you account for the cost to untap a "bleed for 3 and gain 2 pool". Let's also not forget that Legal Manipulations and Public Trust both cost a blood (which could be argued is also a pool). Compare her now to Jackie bleeding for 4 and gaining a pool with 2 cards. That's +1 bleed and -1 pool. Jackie's a 3-cap. I mean, it's NICE, sure, but it´s far from tier1. IMO, you really have to completely dedicate your deck around The Unnamed to make it work. I'm talking Homonculus/Enkil Cog or even Homonculus/Clan Impersonation/Madness Network here. As an example, I played this one for a while and it did reasonably ok against common archtypes: Warning: Spoiler! Crypt: (12 cards, Min: 22, Max: 40, Avg: 8) 2 Annazir DAI OBF POT PRE9 Baali 2 Lubomira Hradok OBF 3 Nosferatu Antitribu 4 The unnamed CEL DAI OBF PRE PRO10 Baali 4 Zubeida for ser OBF PRE PRO8 Abomination Library: (60 cards) Master (12 cards) 6 Ashur Tablets 1 Dreams of the Sphinx 1 Jake Washington (Hunter) 1 Pentex Subversion 1 Perfectionist 1 Specialization 1 Vessel Action (21 cards) 2 Entrancement 1 Unleash Hell's Fury 18 Vaticination Action Modifier (14 cards) 3 Earth Control 1 Enkil Cog 2 Faceless Night 4 I Am Legion 4 Lost in Crowds Combat (4 cards) 4 Form of Mist Ally (1 cards) 1 Carlton Van Wyk (Hunter) Retainer (5 cards) 3 D`habi Revenant 2 Homunculus Equipment (1 cards) 1 Helicopter Combo (2 cards) 2 Swallowed by the Night For the Mages, the same is true; you have to make a deck around it. I have a pretty cool deck with tons of Maureen, Infernal Servitors and Greater Curses that uses all the new toys from HttB. Maureen comes with as a side-bonus too. Extrala featured it on his blog last year. The thing is, all these cool tricks (except Maybe Unleash, but that is unique) have no place in a vote deck and thus shouldn´t be a reason to play Baali vote. If you´d ask me, reasons to play Baali vote are a) Because it's cool b) Because it's different c) Because, sure, the Annazir/Xeper/Arishat crypt is damn solid d) Because you can get votes through without votepush e) Because they can use Reckless Agitation There are probably tons more reasons to build a Baali vote deck. Being better than Lucinde/Marcus Vites Parity Shift is not one of them, because frankly, it isn't.

From my experience, if you're going to make a competitive Baali g5-6 vote deck, it is very doable but that deck has to be very focused, which makes it very boring to play (in casual games). There are no room nor time for anything else that isn't either gaining pool via influencing another vamp (Flock, Enchant) or gaining pool via damaging your prey (KRC+voter). IIRC, the only non-boring card I had in a deck was Kaymakli Fragment, and even that card is here to keep you alive. My point-very efficient deck but I'll never again play it outside tournament...

I made a g5-6 Baali vote deck also, though I haven't had the chance to test it very much so I won't post the whole decklist here. the crypt is fun to play though. a few gimmicks I used for flavor included Path of The Void, for that extra stealth if needed, and to help Xeper or Annazir who have such amazing built-in actions (hulk SMASH new carthage). Aura of Invincibility to help pile up those permanent votes, it's an overlooked card. Bribes, because the 1 pool pays for the Infernal action, and Arishat can sometimes use her special to deny someone else the poolgain. edit: now that I think about it, New Carthage popping up everywhere in the metagame is probably the best reason to play this over Ventrue lawfirm.
