Can I use a Wake card to use Legacy of Power? Or does the minion You do not have permissions to access this page. need to be unlocked?

Rémi

Hello, Legacy of Power: Requires a ready prince, justicar or Inner Circle member. Only usable when another vampire you control enters combat. Lock this reacting vampire and end combat. Each of the vampires involved in that combat goes to torpor. Ruling: [ANK 20200109] Is played during combat. Combat cards can be played to continue combat or begin a new combat. As this card is played during combat, the wake effect coming from a reaction card should have been played just before the combat. I would recommend you to tell the acting player that you use the wake reaction card before combat (wether or not the action is being blocked). The combat starts and you use the Legacy of Power. Check this sequence: Player A acts Player B blocks (or their vampire is being rushed) Combat about to begin, Player B plays wake Combat starts, Player B plays Legacy of Power Is that correct?

I just don't understand why you can't use Wake during combat; isn't it part of resolving the action?

Rémi

Hello, The rulebook gives you the answer: The only minion cards that can be played during combat are combat cards. www.vekn.net/rulebook/4-detailed-turn-sequence#combat Regards, Rémi. One last question: can I use Legacy of Power at any point during combat, or only at the beginning before playing combat cards?

What about enter combat trigger effects like Blithe Acceptance, Blood Turnip, Daliah and Michael Luther etc, are they mandatory triggers before Legacy of Power can be played (to either handle to ignore depending on can/may word)? Or can I now start using Psyche against outside combat ends like Obedience and so forth? (I know the answer will be no.) What you might have been thinking is Promise of 1528 with it's "about to enter" wording. Unless we're to understand "about to enter" and "enters" as equal. Am I in the room when I'm about to enter it or when I enter it? Name: Blithe Acceptance [LotN:C/PS2] Cardtype: Action Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Obfuscate [obf] Put this card on the acting vampire. This vampire gets +1 stealth. Burn this card if this vampire enters combat. A vampire may have only 1 Blithe Acceptance. [OBF] As above, but this vampire can burn 1 blood when he enters combat instead of burning this card. Artist: Imaginary Friends Studios Name: Blood Turnip [TR:R] Cardtype: Master Unique master. Requires a ready anarch. Put this card on any minion. When this minion enters combat, he or she moves this card and 1 blood (or life) to the opposing minion. If the opposing minion is an anarch, that anarch can move this card onto any minion instead (but it must move). Artist: Tom Biondillo Name: Daliah [AU:C/2, POD:DTC] Cardtype: Vampire Clan: Tzimisce Group: 4 Capacity: 6 Discipline: ani aus pot VIC Anarch: After Daliah enters combat, she can gain 1 blood. Artist: Heather V. Kreiter Name: Michael Luther [Anarchs:U/PAB] Cardtype: Vampire Clan: Toreador Group: 3 Capacity: 4 Discipline: aus pre Camarilla: You may lock Michael during a referendum to change the votes and ballots of a Camarilla vampire to votes and ballots of your choice. When Michael enters combat, you may draw 1 card. Discard down to your hand size afterward. Artist: Quinton Hoover Name: Obedience [Jyhad:U, VTES:U, Sabbat:U, SW:PV, CE:U, Third:U, HttB:PKia3, SP:PoS2, SV5:PDeath2] Cardtype: Reaction Discipline: Dominate Only usable if this vampire is about to enter combat with an acting younger vampire. [dom] Unlock the acting vampire and end the action. (Do not lock this vampire if they are blocking.) The acting vampire cannot perform the same action this turn. [DOM] As above, but do not unlock the acting vampire. Artist: Ron Spencer; L. A. Williams; Oliver Meinerding Name: Legacy of Power [DS:U, Tenth:B] Cardtype: Reaction Cost: 3 blood Requires a ready prince, justicar or Inner Circle member. Only usable when another vampire you control enters combat. Lock this reacting vampire and end combat. Each of the vampires involved in that combat goes to torpor. Artist: Steve Casper Name: Psyche! [Jyhad:U, VTES:U, FN:PA2, CE:U/PB, KMW:PAl2, Third:U, KoT:U/PB3/PT3, Promo-20251129] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Celerity [cel] Press. [CEL] Only usable if both combatants are still ready and combat is about to end. Queue a combat with the opposing minion. (Not usable if there is already a combat queued. This can interrupt the resolution of an effect that ends a combat.) Artist: Jeff Menges; Eric Lofgren Name: Promise of 1528 [LotN:U, POD:DTC] Cardtype: Action Modifier/Reaction Clan: Giovanni Only usable if this Giovanni is about to enter combat with a Camarilla vampire, or is the target of a Camarilla vampire's directed action, or during the polling step of a political action called by a Camarilla vampire in the terms of which this Giovanni is chosen. Usable by a locked Giovanni. End the action. (Do not lock this vampire if they are blocking.) Artist: Eric Lofgren Trust in Jan Pieterzoon.
