Question: "Can a vampire use an Inscribed Blood Sorcery action if they had already taken that action (without Inscription) during the turn?" --Assume that the action is not a bleed or political action. Scenario: Eugenio Estevez plays a Cryptic Mission and unlocks with Freak Drive. He then (during the same turn) plays superior Inscription, which he puts on himself along with a face-up copy of Cryptic Mission, per the Inscription card text. He unlocks again with another Freak Drive. "Can Eugenio now burn the Inscription, even though he has performed Cryptic Mission earlier this turn?" "If yes, can Eugenio perform the Inscribed Cryptic Mission action, or does the Inscription just burn with no action taken?" Card text pasted below. Thanks much, -Bill Troxel / Killiam Name: Eugenio Estevez Cardtype: Vampire Clan: Tremere Group: 3 Capacity: 6 Discipline: dom for AUS THA Camarilla. Name: Cryptic Mission Cardtype: Action Discipline: Thaumaturgy +1 stealth action. [tha] Burn 1 blood on a vampire, or do 1 unpreventable damage to any ally or retainer. [THA] As above, and the acting vampire gains 1 blood from the blood bank. Name: Freak Drive Cardtype: Action Modifier Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Fortitude Only usable after action resolution. [for] Only usable if the action was successful. Unlock this vampire. [FOR] Only usable if the action was blocked. Unlock this vampire. Name: Inscription Cardtype: Equipment Discipline: Thaumaturgy Equipment. [tha] Put this equipment on a ready vampire and put a card that requires Blood Sorcery [tha] from your hand on it (face up, out of play; this acting vampire pays the cost of that card). The vampire with this equipment can burn this equipment to use the basic Blood Sorcery ability of that card. [THA] As above, but the vampire can use the superior Blood Sorcery [THA] ability of the card. -Killiam (Bill Troxel) "I look back from where I'm from Look at the woman I've become And the strangest things seem Suddenly routine" -Hedwig Robinson

This ruling on Inscription with Action Modifier "repeats" suggests that you can use it to Cryptic a second time with the same vampire, since the card isn't played, it's used. www.vekn.net/forum/rules-questions/76757-inscription-and-mirror-walk#88419 It is an action provided by a card in play (when it has an action card on it)...by the Inscription. Which means that multiple Inscriptions on the same vampire with the same action on them could be completed on the same turn until all of them are used, since each Inscriptions NRA is limited by instance, cf. burning multiple Creeping Sabotages with the same vampire.
