Here's the link from Google Groups for the two round plus final aka 2r+f or 2 round + final (for the search function) tournament seating: groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/9ee589fe78550464/212cba10fb35b893?lnk=gst&q=2+round+archon#212cba10fb35b893 If that dies, you can go directly to it here: www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc%3Fkey%3D0AomnGn_6A3O3dF9lZ3VUSE1vTkYwbzRNckdhLV9wWFE%26hl%3Den I was looking for it and figured it should go on the VEKN forum. So, you were looking for something to do with V:TES tournaments. Of course, you started on TheLasombra.com . You clicked on Tournaments . Then looked at the sixth paragraph and found exactly what you wanted. > Tournaments wrote: > Need a seating chart for a two round tournament? Try this one by David Tatu and Kevin Mergen . > Man, that's a great website, I should visit it more often.

- I'm not sure the Kevin M. / David T. charts need to specify that "2. No pair of players share a table through all three rounds, when possible." - seatings for 6 and 7 players in Kevin / David's charts require 3 rounds to be played. Most often I've seen 2 rounds played due to limited amount of time, which makes these 3-round seatings unusable. - BSC's charts are available on cellphone, which is cool. - prints on 1 page is cool too (Kevin/David's) I only checked tables 8 & 9, but here are my remarks: 8: - TPs are better handled in K/D's file (5,5,4,6,5,5,4,6 rather than 3,6,4,7,3,6,4,7) 9: - player 5 has 8 TPs in K/D's file, TPs are equally distributed in BSC's file. - K/D doesnt' seem to respect rule #3 "maximize VPs" with players 7 and 8 having max 8 VPs (when just player 6 gets max 8 VPs in BSC's chart)

Hm, ok. Sounds like each chart is usable. The DT/KM does have some extras, but I already printed the other one, so I'll use it this time. Thanks guys! Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one. -Friedrich Nietzsche brandonsantacruz.blogspot.com/

Sorry for off topic but I have always thought that VTES tournament seating goes like swiss. I mean that people with most VPs will play in the same table. In that chart it seems VPs are distributed equal for each table (so players with GW and no GW will be on same table). What is reason for this? I think swiss would make more balanced tables. With equal VP tables player can get 0VP player each time for his prey and random seating can affect for outcome. Worst case is that you have 2 GW and you get player with 0 VPs in your last table with zero motivation to win b/c he will not go to finals anyway.

The preliminary rounds are closer to a Round-Robin in the early rounds (maximising the number of different match-ups). So unlike the Swiss Draft, which is about matching together the better ranked players against other better ranked players, it is about having every player play against every other player as far as possible. Then the top-ranked people can get into the final. I could see a two-day tournament running as a variation Swiss Draft by running it effectively as a "pool" tournament. (e.g. 12 players will have a 3-round playoff before the top 4 are taken out and then formed into tables across the pools via a Swiss System and then continue with either a Swiss Method or a VTES-format tournament) Retired Baron of Sydney, Australia, 418

Yea I can understand Round-Robin in smaller tournaments so you don't have play against same people. But what about tournaments with 50 or more players?

I'll to with Kevin and David's next time. Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one. -Friedrich Nietzsche brandonsantacruz.blogspot.com/
