Fee Stake: Florence Florence, SC July 24, 2021 2R + F 12 Players Jose Lafuente www.vekn.net/event-calendar/event/9799 Thanks to Jordan Beall for keeping notes during the final round! Finals seating order: Jose LaFuente: !Malk stealth Bleed -> Ethan Mathis: !Toreador/Toreador Bruise & Bleed -> John Byrd: Weenie Obfuscate Bleed-> Benjamin Billings: Baba Yaga Animalism -> Jason Joy: !Salubri Bruise & Bleed Jose started Kindred Spirits bleeding Ethan right away with his mid-cap !Malkavians. It would not be until Turn 4 that Ethan got his first vampire out (Miller Delmardigan). John brought out small caps each Turn and rather than focus on bleeding a minion-less prey, he used his first few turns equipping his vamps with Laptops, Coolers or Bombs. Benjamin did not draw a Baba Yaga in this opening crypt and spent the first three Turns burning a pool to find one. It was not until Turn 4 that Baba Yaga would start receiving pool. Jason brought out Castiel and Thomas Steed, but had no rushes or weapons in his hand. Jose stealth bled Ethan for 2-4 pool each turn. On Turn 5, Ethan brought out Kallista, Master Sculptuer and was down to 8 pool on Turn 5. On Turn 6, Ethan played a Villien on Miller for 5 pool to stay alive. He would also Fame John’s Basil, rush with Fleetness, Fast Hands Basil’s Bomb and sent Basil to Torpor. Ethan put Dragonbound into play on his discard phase. John lost 5 pool total from the Fame/Dragonbound Basil on Turn 6. On Turn 6, Benjamin influenced out Baba Yaga and was now down to 11 pool. The Fame would burn pool from all Methuselahs at their unlock phases for all of Turn 7. At the end of Turn 7, both Ethan and John were down to 2 pool each. On Turn 7, Benjamin played a Slum Hunting Ground and Deep Song rushed Thomas Steed, dealing 4 damage to him. On Turn 8, Jose bled out Ethan, earning the game’s first VP. John then bled out Benjamin with two bleeds for the second VP. Jason rushed John’s Celine and sent her to torpor, earning Castiel a Righteous Aura. On Turn 10, after another minion was sent to torpor while attempting to bleed Jason, John transferred out his remaining pool, earning Jose a second VP. Jason and Jose went back and forth with bleeding and rushing actions. On Turn 11, Apache Jones went to torpor, and on Turn 12, Midget was burned in combat On Turn 14, Jose conceded and Jason earned 2 VPs. 1.5 VP +2 VP in final Deck Name: Blood Insanity Author: Jose LaFuente Description: iMalk bleed Crypt (12 cards; Capacity min=3 max=9 avg=5.25) ================== 2x General Perfidio Dios 5 dem obf AUS Malkavian antitribu:3 2x Apache Jones 5 aus for obf DEM Malkavian antitribu:4 1x Marta 3 aus dem Malkavian antitribu:4 2x Midget 3 obf pre DEM Malkavian antitribu:3 1x Persephone Tar-Anis 8 cel pot AUS DEM OBF Malkavian antitribu:4 2x Beauregard Krueller 4 aus dem obf Malkavian antitribu:4 1x Uncle George 5 aus dom obf DEM Malkavian antitribu:3 1x Alicia Barrows 9 AUS DEM OBF POT PRE Malkavian antitribu:4 Library: 90 cards Master (15 cards) ================== 2x Institution Hunting Ground 3x Obfuscate 3x Auspex 5x Blood Doll 2x Dementation Action (15 cards) ================== 15x Kindred Spirits Action Modifier (24 cards) ================== 6x Eyes of Chaos 1x Into Thin Air 4x Lost in Crowds 1x Veil the Legions 4x Cloak the Gathering 8x Confusion Combat (15 cards) ================== 4x Personal Scourge 1x Psychic Assault 2x Read Intentions 2x Behind You! 6x Coma Reaction (21 cards) ================== 4x On the Qui Vive 1x Precognition 11x Telepathic Misdirection 5x Wake with Evening's Freshness

I'm a bit confused about this. Did Jason Joy win or Jose Lafuente win? The list is for !malk, but the header of this post says hat Jason D Joy won. Lasombra Archbishop of São José, SC, Brazil.

It´s possible to get the Toreador/!Toreador and !Salubri lists?

By transferring out, John gave the victory to Jose. We don't know the exact state of the game at that time, but if John was about to die, he could leave Jose kill him instead of transferring out, otherwise he had no reason to transfer out (even if pissed off by being bled by his predator and rushed by his predator). John had single pool left and no chance of not being bleed out when Jose took his next turn. There was no way I could have finished Jose before that.

Thanks!

The incentive to transfer out is to "teach" your prey about the result of relentless back-rushing. Why did John's prey rush him to gain the Righteous Aura instead of Jose? TBH, there's nothing wrong with John transferring out at that point even if Jose had no minions that could bleed. It's clear from the recap that John had no options left to obtain a VP. He can leave the table however he likes at that point.

His situation was hopeless at that stage of the game. John's prey, this being me, back rushed him ONE time - hard to consider that “relentless” - but ok. John was playing a weenie deck and had several more vampires than I did and good bloat machine going. I had to slow him down or it would have been just him and Jose battling out for the final VPs. I couldn’t focus on Jose if I had John’s swarm contend with also. John had just bled Benjamin out and had his sights set on doing the same thing to me. So, I back rushed one of his bloaters and got my righteous aura thus taking away a resource from John - one less resource to focus on me while defending against Jose.
