I tend to build several version of decks I enjoy playing, so here is another of my Matasuntha decks. The deck is super slow so not a very wise decision in a 100+ people tourney, especially without Smiling Jack, Anarch Revolt, etc. The worst part is you rely on the table collapsing and taking what is left. The good part is you have decent defense, in terms of intercept and even combat. Ashur Tablets to retrieve cards, combat when you face hard hitters or wakes & intercept on a stealthy table. 8 Eagle's Sight should provide you some control of the table. and some short notes on how lucky i was ROUND 1:The key in round 1 was seating (read LUCK); with turbo legionnaires in front almost killing an oldskool ventrue deck; the kind that plays ancilla and doesn’t hesitate to backoust in order to live and try to recover. For me a free vp and a new very weakened prey. 2 fast vp’s, leaving me on a 3-player game, the kind of situation in which my deck shines. Result GW5 ROUND 2: a goratrix celerity deck in front gave me like no chance on an oust. Tooled up with 2 maneuvers and ivory bow i had only one chance;my grandprey, a hardcore Elimelech stealth bleed making 2 vp’s like it was nothing, in my back and some succesful deflects. I tried some actions, well knowing they would prob end up with vamps in torpor, but cycling some wakes of preyand cycling myself for 1 specific card. I was left with only guggenheim on 2 blood; mata and khursid in torpor and a single pool - ). Elimelech was taken down by goratrix after a bounce from me so it looked like game over. I had a one in a gazillion chance of even just staying alive. I tried to cycle cards as i knew my only chance would be to draw a giants blood, play it on elimelech, rescue my preds hardcore bleed machine and hope he would agree on bleeding me hard. So it occured, bleed for plenty, wake cept, bounce. goratrix ended up dying with only 2 cept on a 3 stealth bleed.It came out of nowhere. That left me with Guggenheim on 1 blood and 7 pool (about 1 elimelech bleed from eternity). I hunted so i could rescue a vampire turn after; blocked elimelechs bleed with a “quicken sight’ which gave me a maneuver so i didnt spend any blood. Rescue mata, block next bleed, hit hard, prevent, taste … concede. An unlikely GW3 ROUND 3: basically a table i could handle, no decks were a real threat; the only one being slow play (some to technical difficulties). Nakhtorheb in back but it wasn’t the hardcore bleed type, rather toolboxy with mummies so that was pretty ok for me. Prey Hugo had some good timing killing his prey with the malk deck and even with only 2 minions of 5 left he managed to oust 2 more, both all ready low on pool. With dragonbound in play i could’ve easily taken him down for 2 vp but time hit. I didn’t have the cool in this game, nor the insight to turn it my way. FINAL: Well, u saw that i guess? - ) 2 small things you couldn’t see :1 I took back aura reading (from ashur) in a perfect hand with direct intervention (for like 8 turns), 2 eagle sight, otqv, forced awakening. bounce. The reason i did, and not play itin the first block was that i wanted to cycle my hand later, after having to use eagle sight(s) to draw another one quickly. 2 In the end i tried to block the bleed of 5 with Titi, because i was scared to wake nuriel, use Erciyes (for deflect) and run into a touch of clarity - /// So i tried to block with Titi and cycled into a telepathic misdirection, leaving me perfectly safe (unless he had both Touch of Calrity AND Hide the Mind) with another wake and 2 bounce. One special note: i think the finals were played very nice by everyone; taking the time to think but not wasting any and with great sportsmanship. That way it turned out to be a fun game to play and to watch (from what i read in comments). For me that tells me everyone in final was very skilled, knew their deck by heart and how to play it the best. I am proud i could play versus such great players and even have the luck on my side to even beat them. Thanks Fernando, Kleber, Hugo and Luis. I sincerely hope we’ll have more games together in the future, no matter the outcome. It was a pleasure.

Question for Bram : With the addition of Vivienne Géroux to the kickstarter, I tried to find a usefullness to that ally. The best one I could think of was your deck which can play it (with great benefit because it can play most of your cards), protect it (because well WALL !) and would have from it a steady bleeder for cheap in a deck with a kind of weak ousting power. Did you test it ? If not : why not ? if yes : what did you think of it ?

If the tournament is sanctioned (as it claims in the event info) can the event organizers cherry pick what pieces of the tournament rules they wish to follow and what not and receive same treatment and inclusion? Can this be done without the cherry picking done visible on the related V:EKN forum announcement as I cannot find this "private deck list" part there, nor on the linked registration page? Is this some one off case or are these retroactive additions that were not previously mentioned, how that relates to 1.6? Or is it just a simple case of misunderstanding what is considered public tournament information? Mind you this is not some call that "Everything published nao!" but instead I'm pointing the flaw in claiming organizer cannot release them. They can, they just choose not to due to most likely stated reasons above. Nothing in ze rules prevent them. Every VTES player should know the difference between the two. I applaud the effort the officials have done to achieve the tournament and host it and this is in no way a critique towards them as a person(s) or towards the event itself. I feel we should as a community continue to incentivize event organizers to spend the hours to create enjoyment for everyone and I hope this does not take away from that. It is meant as a curiosity question, especially when the Tournament rules still references White Wolf, Inc. Someone might wish to use tournament rules 1.7 to alter the rules, and we should pray that they do not alter them further... Trust in Jan Pieterzoon.

The point was not on the event registration page but was communicated to the players who registered in these terms: > Please send your deck list in txt format to […] before June 5th at 00:00 UTC. As I have in this occurrence stated I would not share them, I will not. This is more about integrity than it is about rules. I also used this specific section in a sense, since this is the first major tournament (to my knowledge) where preliminary rounds games were streamed live. I am in favor of more dynamic and open events as this produces, I think, a more engaging event. I am in favor of disclosing deck lists, but I think at first it might be best to have a system where the players can opt out of this disclosure if they choose to.

Hmmm, if the rules used in the tournament conflict with The Official Tournament Rules TM, then I'd say that the tournament wasn't actually regular Standard Constructed but the format was instead Limited or Unsanctioned. IMO the tournament organizer just can't just pick and choose which parts of the tournament rules they want to use. So in this case the tournament would either need to be changed to Limited or Unsanctioned OR the players need to be informed that also the tournament rule 1.6. will be retroactively imposed. By the letter, it looks like it's up to the parent company and the tournament organizer. This really is a tempest in a tea pot. @Timo: nobody is perfect; good idea!

0) For any tournament participants expect their decklists will not be shared with any competititors, directly or indirectly. So it make sense to limit access to decklists to reasonable minimum of staff involved. 1) Promises were given, whether wording were intentional that strong (like "we will not share decklists") or more permissive ("we will not share decklists of participating players after the tournament") is more appropriate, I respect Phoenix to keep it, even though formal IP rules let Paradox (or nominated organizers) share the decks (I'm pretty sure Lackey owner have all rights to share you deck during game, so what?). 2) Considering multi-rounds, I'm pretty sure every deck was revealed more than enough not to be SECRET, so in the future we may consider deck pre-submit wording like "decks are revealed by-default after the tournament". 3) Thanks for great tournament to all involved into play and organisation! 4.20) Dog ate the decklists anyway.

Awfully quiet from The Powers That Be so I'd be interested to know what is BCP stance on this. Hugh? Henrik? And most importantly Vincent? Letting customized rules be used for Standard Constructed sets a bad example IMO. Finnish Politics!

There's also no distinction made between Standard Constructed and Limited in section 1.6, both are sanctioned tournament formats. Further, the rules also state: 6.3. Constructed Deck Registration The head judge or tournament organizer may require players to register their decks upon arrival at a tournament. Please note that is "may require," not "shall require." This makes it even more difficult to support any position that universally mandates submitting (or publishing) decklists for Standard Constructed events.

We'll update this part that is now obsolete. For the moment, read it as: "anything that has been made public (decklist etc.) can be reproduced without permission by WW / BCP" So be careful not to publish your winning deck list if you don't want it to appear in the newsletter Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director
