Vulture's buffet

Some of the folks I play with don't always have a perfect level of understanding written english, and the subleties of precise wording... Vulture's Buffet ACTION +1 stealth action. If this hunt is successfull, unlock this vampire. obf: Remove a minion or retainer in any Methuselha's ash heap from the game to hunt. spi: As obf above, but at +1 hunt. SPI: As spi above, and you gain one pool. Is the removal of a retainer/minion from any players ash heap mandatory to play it? What happens if nobody has a minion/retainer in their ash heap? Thank you.

The "Remove X to do Y" means: If you can't do X, you can't do Y. Therefore, if there is no minion or retainer in any ash heap, you can't play the card. Prince of Bonn, Germany

It says "this hunt', so I'd say it's a hunt action.

Well, at obf it says "Remove a minion or retainer in any ash heap from the game to hunt". For me that's still clear enough. Prince of Bonn, Germany

This is a hunt action, the same way that Magic of the Smith is an equip action or The Summoning a recruit action at superior. Name: Magic of the Smith Cardtype: Action Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Thaumaturgy +1 stealth action. [tha] Search your library for an equipment card and equip this acting vampire with it (requirements and cost apply as normal). Shuffle afterward. [THA] As above, but this is a +3 stealth action. Name: The Summoning Cardtype: Action Discipline: Presence +1 stealth action. [pre] Search your library for an ally or retainer. Show it to all players and put it in your hand (shuffle and discard afterward). [PRE] Search your library for an ally. This vampire recruits that ally (requirements and cost apply as normal).
