> Name: Emerald Legionnaire > Cardtype: Ally > Clan: Harbinger of Skulls > Cost: 1 pool > Wraith with 2 life. 2 strength, 1 bleed. > During your unlock phase, you can remove 7 cards in your ash heap from the game to move an Emerald Legionnaire from your ash heap to the ready region with 2 life. > Artist: Javier Santos > Relevant rules text: Requirements for Playing Cards. Each library card has symbols on the attribute bar (the marble stripe on the left side) for the card type (except for master cards), the clan or Discipline (if any) required to play the card and the cost (if any) of playing that card. Some cards will have other requirements (such as capacity or title) stated in the card text. Only a minion who meets the requirements given on a minion card can play it, while only a Methuselah who controls a ready minion who meets the requirements of a master card can play it. Summon History for reference: > > Name: Summon History > [HttB:R, Anthology:3] > Cardtype: Action > Cost: X blood > Discipline: Temporis > [tem] Search your library (shuffle afterwards) and/or ash heap for an ally, retainer or equipment whose cost is X or less. Put that card in play (on this vampire and with starting life from the bank as needed). > [TEM] Search your crypt (shuffle afterwards) and/or ash heap for a non-scarce vampire with capacity X or less and put that vampire in play (with no blood). > Artist: Andrew Hepworth > As I read it, using the heap ability of Emerald Legionnaire does not require a ready Harbinger of Skull. The requirement only comes into play when a minion attempts the action, or if you control a ready member of required clan in case of masters. Moving cards from somewhere to elsewhere is not recruiting or employing, and bypasses the clan requirement, as per Summon History. Am I wrong? Can I just discard Emerald Legionnaire and later move it to the ready region without any Harbingers on board? "Oh, to the Hades with the manners! Don't you still have to have at least one Legionnaire in play in order to pull that off, though? (the card text on Legionnaire is not active while it's in the ash heap)

Anything beyond 14 cards burned seems like a stretch, but its possible right?

You can also have only 1 EL, use its special to bring into play EL #2, and use EL #2's special to bring out EL #3 etc. (as long as you have cards to remove in your ash heap). Am i right to assume that if you move an EL from the ash heap to the ready reagion via another EL game text no cost is paid?

And EL brought into play in the unlock phase can act in the same turn?

Spoiler alert: Can act. The clause for not acting only affects those that are recruited. If you cheat them into game, it's all good. "Oh, to the Hades with the manners!
