Greetings fellow Methuselahs!
As stated here , our country will be the first to host a Grand Prix this year.

I will create the formal events as more details will be provided.
The place is not very near the real center of the city, but is therefore easier to reach by car ( less than 15 minutes from the airport), and with a single bus line from the city center.
Some random information about the city and the accomodations.
In the same weekend in Bologna there will be a major motor fair named MotorShow ( motorshow.it/it/ ), implying 2 different things: if you want to stay more than the 2 day for the tournament, you may enjoy the fair. On the other hand, you should book your hotel as soon as possible. Speaking of which, we actually don't have arranged anything for the accomodation, but any hotel/hostel/apartment in the surrounding will be fine. Bologna is well served by Ryanair flight, and by many trains due to it's position.
A nice tipical dinner will be arranged for saturday evening, and we will have food and drinks all along the tournament at cheap price.
There's no need to subscribe in advance, but we will be glad to know earlier how many honoured guest we will have.
Just send me a word for any question you should have.
See you in Bologna!

I'll be one of them. Players of Marseilles are planning to come by car.
Is it possible to know the exact location of the event so we can book rooms ?

It's not an hotel or similar so it won't provide locations for rest.
If you are looking for booking rooms you can search anywhere nearby (even going outside the city itself pushing towards San Lazzaro di Savena (confining with Bologna)
Just let me know if I may be of some help

Some well informed scout reported that Anthology sets landed in Bologna and that they may be used as prize for the tournament.

Also maybe someone would be selling Anthology set?
If so can you contact me please or reply here? We would like to reserve some for our community
Unfortunately we have none of it now (
If it is a shipping cost problem, I suggest you give money for your order to Simone (Thelonius), he buys the sets for you and then they wait for you in Bologna.
same things for booster boxex eventually
@Simone: is there a way to register officially yet so we can see how many people planning to come?

@Exposer: As TTC is saying, I have no problem if you are planning to come to the tournament to receive and store your order. (FYI for 15 boxes I paid 19€ for shipping).
@TapeTaChatte: I don't think I will provide an online form to subscribe. People should just wave their hand (that is writing me their full name and vekn) here, on whatsapp or by mail and I will update the start topic
@IC-Oddish: I'm pretty sure during the tournament there will be some selling players, also for Anthology, single cards, boosters and starter decks

I ended 6th and 7th :'(
I was a very nice tournament with a large friendly attendance. As usual, there was a lot of "kill your prey" stubbornness that make simple or natural deals impossible to pass. For instance, my little prey (6 pool, playing a Neferu / Cybele deck) declines a Banishment on his predator's Marcus Vittel while at 8 pool. The predator plays also Amaravati and quite a lot of Dominate. Instead He'd rather have his predator call a Parity Shift on the Setite's prey Martin and leave the 5 to his predator. That would leave Martin at 4 pool but Martin has 2 vampires that can deflect (it's a Create Gargoyle deck that didn't do anything in the game).
So on the next turn, my prey who "can't play at all without Marcus Vittel" (according to him) plays a Zillah's, call a Parity Shift to get the 5 pool, and brings out Orlandus to gain the vote lock. On the following turn, he kills the Setite and Martin.
In my opinion, the clever thing to do is to accept the Banishment (because we've been voting together and we need to continue to do so against Marcus/Amaravati and also my predator who is also playing vote) so he's safe(r) and has more free hands to oust his prey.
If he fears that I can kill Marcus with that, he can negotiate some no-aggression until he ousts the Gargoyle deck, I'd happily accept that. I can even help him doing that because his prey is sadly of no use on the table.
Instead of that, he deals with his predator who can be really aggressive against one of his allies, and dies two turns after that because of this pool deal.
(As a reminder, the goal of the game is not ousting your prey at all cost. It's to maximize your VPs, a goal that can take many different routes.)
Aside of that, I had two terrible rounds on the second day with twice a non-existing grand-predator. The first time, it was a Appolonius deck that never brang out Appolonius and spent the entire game drawing vampires.
The second time it was Martin's deck that brang out Gargoyles, did one rush and stopped there.
When this is the case, it's really hard to do anything in a game because your predator has no pressure at all and you have to defend yourself all game long.

As long as the complains are about game situations and not organizational issues, I'm happy. Anyway I managed to get to the final on Saturday with my lovely nocturn s&b deck, even making a big mistake that basically ruined game 2 both for me and my grandprey adam (that's having beast with no blood as my prey's only vamp and not playing unmasking with two unlocked nocturn in play...)
Sunday I had only one favourable game but surely it was because of the poor choice of deck (valkyrie rush and bleed) that gave me almost no chance in every seating due to the huge amount of bounce/intercept/votes attending the tournament. Luckily I had the time to focus on organizational stuff
Thanks you all for coming, for playing and to have made this great weekend possible.
See you in Belgium on February!

It was definitely a great first GP, I concurr to that. You already put a milestone that future GPs will have to equal or overcome and that won't be.
While I was hoping a little more, 38 players remain a very nice attendance.
I will update the GP thread with all results later in the week!

@ Aknha:
The player with no predator often wins, so it sounds like you weren't in a spot for success.....
My first gargoyle deck was rush combat where I begged my cross tables for con boons. The incentive was me rushing for them and my predator not gaining pool. They aren't very good...
That was incredible.
Meeting so many nice people.
Having so great dinner.
Simone and everyone who attended - thank you all a lot!
Again that was amazing weekend!
