Does Mistress Fanchon's controller need to reveal to other players which minion card she pulled from her controller's library? It doesn't say she does, but how are other players supposed to know whether her controller pulled a minion card rather than a master or event card? Her ability just seems to be begging people to cheat. Sibyl's Tongue explicitly says that you must reveal it to others. Really her ability needs to be changed to require that you show others which card she pulled from library. But I'm wondering if there is some ruling already that I don't know about. Can I get a ruling? Mistress Fanchon Tremere Capacity: 11 Group: 4 Camarilla Tremere Inner Circle: Mistress Fanchon may search your library (shuffle afterward) for any minion card and move that card to your hand as a +1 stealth action. +2 bleed. Sibyl's Tongue [Action] Action [Malkavian antitribu] Malkavian antitribu [X Blood] +1 stealth action. This action costs X blood, where X is the number of Sibyl's Tongues in your ash heap. Choose a card by name. Search your library for a copy of that card, show it to all players, and move it to your hand. Discard down to your hand size and shuffle your library afterward.

You can always call a judge or play with people that do not cheat.

Who said anything about cheating? Honest mistakes happen, and it is quite easy to make one on this effect. Can you even guarantee that you never did it yourself, since nobody ever double-checked your play?

You can also ask the player "it's a minion card, right?" if you want to be sure. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

This is where the discussion came up that prompted me to ask here.

If you're talking about a Lackey friendly game, I don't think there is much importance. If you are talking about a tournament via Lackey you can always show your hand to a spectator to confirm it's a minion card. Anyway I would not say this is a key issue for the game.

I don't think it would ever be an issue, but if you don't trust someone, they could show you they action/reaction/combo/combat)modifier/ ally/retainer symbol. Or in absence of a judge, this isn't 1994 anymore, you can send a picture to someone and have them text confirmation to a skeptical party. Edit: or build a better deck......
