Due to an unexpected server error, we had to upgrade the VEKN website to a newer version, and pieces are currently being put back together. This will take some time, so in the meantime, you can use the forum. I'm sure you've all been as frustrated as me not to be able to use the forum and the website. The avatars and instant messagerie haven't been restored yet. You can upload new avatars in the meantime. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Thanks for your hard work! I'm glad that you were able to keep all the threads on the forums! Check out my VTES blog: Gaming with BS I also host a google doc which separates the TWDA into clans . That means I track how often clans win, which crypt groups get used, and how many people attend events. You can access all of that info here:

Can we start by turning down the brightness of the site? I can suddenly understand how a vampire caught in daylight must feel.

Hurray! We got our first bot. I've added reCapcha, we should be relatively safe. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

There has been quite a lot of time-outs when trying to access these forums this weekend. I hope this is simply due to you doing work on the site, rather than a permanent problem. Smoking craters tell no tales. —Tex talks Battletech

Actually quite strongly prefer the white interface, much more readable

Is there a place where I can find the official expansion card PDFs?

After lots of errors in the past days posting now works for me... thanks all the people working on it!

yes, thanks for hard work. is there a way to get VEKN number somehow ? other than simply be patient and wait for full restoration, of course (which is only possible if you can actually afford to wait for prayer time, which can be quite an issue when one messes with official material, right. but probably only one guy can understand me now).

In the meantime, here's the player registry under the CSV format: www.vekn.net/images/stories/downloads/vekn_registry.zip www.vekn.net/images/stories/downloads/vekn_registry_alt.zip Both files have the same content, but one uses the comma (,) and the other the semi-colon (;). Any Excel program should be able to open at least one of the two depending on your language, that's why I provided both. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Are we close to getting the old website back or something that is a similar format? It feels like the game died overnight. Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one. -Friedrich Nietzsche brandonsantacruz.blogspot.com/

People dislike change. Change bad. Fire good. Imbued cheesy. Etc... My only issues since we got back up is having to scroll several feet of text to get to forums, and no time/date on posts. So far, I've survived.

Is there any news on the restoration of the site? "It was a perfect plan - until it had contact with reality" --- Hardy Range Playgroup Tradition Compliance Manager

I'm sure that the holiday season is slowing down efforts to restore the site. That having been said, I think that the longer the site is down, the worse it is for the community. I'm more than happy to put some time into the site (I'm decent at HTML5, and quite proficient with Wordpress), assuming that there is anything I can do to help. Check out my VTES blog: Gaming with BS I also host a google doc which separates the TWDA into clans . That means I track how often clans win, which crypt groups get used, and how many people attend events. You can access all of that info here:

Sadly, I'm not familiar with Joomla. But if I can help in any other way, please feel free to call on me. And thanks for your efforts - I'm sure it's a major pain in the ass to put this all back together, just know that the community really appreciates it! The links on the main page (for the expansion sets) doesn´t work for me. Using google chrome. Overkill is highly underrated. You know, like in computor games and such.

It would be nice to get the "Main Menu" as index page when using a mobile. National Coordinator Germany nc [dot] germany [at] magenta [dot] de

It would be helpful if the old functionality of not having to have "index.php" in the URL could be restored - which was, I presume, being done by an Apache rewrite rule or similar. Currently, quite a few links into the site from Google link to the version of the URL without index.php and get 404s. e.g. I can find links to: www.vekn.net/forum/6-rules-questions/16699-momentums-edge--gambit-accepted www.vekn.net/forum/7-deck-clinic/4220-deck-mashup-3rd-ed-tzimisce-starters www.vekn.net/forum/9-event-reports-and-twd/9614-hunger-moon-atlanta-mini-report (And more.) All of these used to work, and all of which do work if you shove "index.php/" in between www.vekn.net/ and forum/ While search engines will eventually sort themselves out and stop linking to old links, in the meantime it looks more than a little unhelpful to anyone who happens to get one of the URLs that used to work in their search results.

The new colour scheme is a 100% improvement, please keep it. Password reset request now seem to work too. Fabulous. I might log in more. It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation. -Herman Melville

So, while on a computer that's not mine, I looked at the site in IE10 (10.0.9200.17607). It's... probably not what you want. (With apologies for any little glitches introduced by this not being my computer I'm using, so I get to use Paint.)

I can mock up a design in photoshop, or help create elements for the front page. Brett's right... something needs to be done.
