Telepathic misdirection after on the qui vive

On the qui vive: "...This reacting minion can play reaction cards and attempt to block as though untapped..." Can I play telepathic misdirection with on the qui vive? I am playing it "as though untapped" but I am still tapped and can not pay the tap "cost" that the card requires.

It's just "Tap this vampire." not "Tap this vampire to...", so you can play it after On the Qui Vive just fine. Marko, Prince of Helsinki
