Name: warped perceptions Cardtype: reaction / action modifier Cost: 1 blood reaction: + 1 intercept with an optional maneuver in the resulting combat if this vampire successfully blocks this action. action modifier: +1 stealth. If this vampire is successfully blocked and if combat does occur, the blocking minion will be considered the acting minion in that combat. Flavor text: Art notes: someone losing grasop in a delusional world World of Darkness reference: both dementation and chimestry are deceptive disciplines. some dementation high level abilities play with switching sensationas as do chimestry on its highest levels. How does this card address a compelling game need?: 5 vampires shares this disciplines in group 4 (+1 advanced) 2 in group 5 1 in group 6 most of the vampire concerned are ravnos 4 of them shares the two at superior level for the moment no card exists with these two disciplines mixed. it would add some diversity to strengthten the ravnos walls with these groups about the mechanisms, i took inspiration mostly from dementation and chimestry cards already existing which give mostly stealth or intercept. 1 blood is expensive for a card requiring two disciplines and granting 1 intercept or 1 stealth. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

I agree with Ankha. A dual discipline card with difficult to pair disciplines should be stronger. conceptually, I see no reason why + should provide intercept. Neither one has intercept on it's own. I would suggest something along the lines of: "Tunnel Vision" 2 Minions attempting to block have -1 intercept and they pay 1 additional blood to play reaction cards. As above with +2 stealth. If this action is blocked, cancel the combat and untap this minion. End the current minion phase. Independent Futurist. Contrarian (titled, X votes where X is the number of votes as the acting minion.) Target Vitals is always the better combat card.

Dementation has Babble , which doesn't give you intercept but can give one of your chums intercept.

ok chimestry has no "intercept" but the following cards which mostly reduces steath: ignis fatuus reduces by 1 a minion stealth in inferior for one blood draba: as mentioned in superior makes a minion stealth drops to 0 veiled sight: gives - x stealth to a minion where x is this minion stealth pseudo blindness: cancels an action modifier requiring obscufate or chimestry (so most of the time stealth) for dementation: 2 cards have intercept: babble in inferior gives +1 intercept to another minion random pattern (mixed auspex and dementation) gives +1 intercept in inferior

Name: warped perceptions Cardtype: reaction / action modifier Cost: nothing reaction: the acting minion gets -1 stealth for the remainder of the turn action modifier: +1 stealth. If this vampire is successfully blocked and if combat does occur, the blocking minion will be considered the acting minion in that combat. so it takes both critics into account: i reduced the cost and made that card closer to existing card (the inferior level is exactly the same as ignis fatuus but costs no blood as it is a double discipline card). it is more versatile than babble as it helps all attempts to block the action even by the minion who played this card (contrary to babble). direwolf i am not convinced by your tunnel vision proposition as my goal was to make a card more for wall decks. your tunnel visage is looking very similar to mirror image or to red herring but weaker it seems to me : s mirror image: 1 blood chi: + 1 stealth CHI: Strike: combat ends. If this vampire was blocked while performing an action other than bleeding, the action continues as if unblocked. red herring cost 1 blood [chi] Only usable when this acting vampire is blocked. Untap the acting vampire, do not tap the blocking minion, and cancel the current action and combat. Take the card played to perform the action (if any) back into your hand. Your vampires cannot attempt the same action again this turn. Discard down to your hand size. [CHI] As above, but tap the blocking minion.

If this vampire is successfully blocked and if combat does occur, the blocking minion will be considered the acting minion in that combat. > The inferior isn't bad now that the card is free, but I don't think the superior is worthwhile. Deny gives you a free +1 stealth, and similarly Occlusion and the blocking/acting switcheroo probably isn't really worth going to a second discipline for. It's not a bad thing to have, of course, it just doesn't really seem worth making your crypt selection that much more fragile for that benefit.

How about instead of the Dem/Chi version you had "+1 stealth. If this action is blocked the blocking minion cannot block, react or vote for the remainder of the turn." Sort of a contact high thing. IMHO, the first proposal was good enough. I'd just change the cost and the additional effect of the advanced version: Name: warped perceptions Cardtype: reaction / action modifier Cost: none reaction: + 1 intercept with an optional maneuver in the resulting combat if this vampire successfully blocks this action. action modifier: +1 stealth. If this vampire is successfully blocked, this vampire can burn a blood before range is determined to end combat.

i thought about this card a lot... and here comes the new version : Name: warped perceptions drawing undue attention Cardtype: reaction Cost: nothing the acting minion gets -1 stealth for the remainder of the turn as above and any minion can attempt to block this minion ignoring the normal prey, predator or target restrictions for blocking actions. Blocking attempts declaration by Methuselah are made clockwise beginning by the acting minion controller's prey instead of the normal order. reason for modification: as mentioned earlier, at first i wanted to make a card suitable for ravnos/malkav walls deck with some bleed/stealth as well as intercept option... most of the effects described before in fact were not very new and quite weak compared to existing cards. furthermore nobody seemed to like the more original "effect" which transformed the blocking minion in acting minion for the time of the combat... so... i thought about what james said about "which kind of card would make people want to build a crypt around it..." i hope you will like better the new version...

Like it as it might send an entire table into a paranoia state! As the card has no cost (which keeps it playable as opposed to so many over-costed CHI-cards), I do feel a 'A vampire can play only 1 Drawing Undue Attention each turn'-clause might be in order (Two -vampires would still be allowed 1 each otherwise it's a pointless card).

A possibility that is simpler might be: Reduce the acting minions stealth to -1. Just trying to keep it simple here Independent Futurist. I much like the new superior text that anyone can block. I'm not shure if people will take the offer though. You offer the chance but not many decks benefit directly from blocking cross table. Maybe make it: each methuselah must attempt to block once and couple it with draba and mistress Fanchon.

The acting minion still has the incentive to make their action successful, so may well still throw down stealth or whatever. And the new blocker potentially has little incentive to throw down extra resources to block someone else's action. Let's say this is your predator bleeding you, and you make your grand-predator try to block them. The combat occurs, but your grand-predator isn't a very combative deck - he's playing Ventrue Law Firm, and mostly only has S:CE and prevent. Not very exciting for your predator. Or you instead choose to have your grand-prey block him, who has guns - but what incentive does your grand-prey have to beat up his grand-prey right now? To eliminate one of those problems, perhaps: [CHI][DEM] Play when this vampire successfully blocks an acting ready minion. Choose another ready minion who is not controlled by the acting Methuselah. The chosen minion is now the successful blocker instead; the acting minion enters combat with the chosen minion (as normal for a successful block), and this combat is the resulting combat. Still not great, but you can at least make sure the block is successful.

Name: warped perceptions drawing undue attention Cardtype: reaction Cost: nothing chi dem: the acting minion gets -1 stealth for the remainder of the turn CHI DEM as above and any minion can attempt to block this minion ignoring the normal prey, predator or target restrictions for blocking actions. Blocking attempts declaration by Methuselah are made clockwise beginning by the acting minion controller's prey instead of the normal order. Let me try to explain once more why this way could help a wall deck for a mixed ravnos/malkav deck: This card would be useful for exemples At inferior: - your prey is making a basic action at +1 stealth (hunting, equiping, political action, recruiting...), it gives to both you and his prey help to block the action and so to get maybe a fight between two minion you dont control. - same for your predator and his predator It s true it will probably not stop a "night move" or "forgotten labyrinth" but it can make the difference for an ally you want to save (for the moment) at the table. Look at maris streck the malkavian justicar for instance: most of the time the player will bargain about the use of her ability and lot of times i saw her owner just using her ability to help his grand prey to block actions. - at superior, it allows to almost any minion to block the action as if they had used an eagle sight. So it allows both to make crosstable blocks or/and to allow them. + it keeps the advantage of the inferior level. So it can allow you to block your grand predator which is bleeding too fast your predator and so to save you time or to block a parity shift crosstable or to just add paranoia at the table to give an opportunity to.another deck wall to block an action... the text is long... it s true... but it has to clear up many details about change of the regular prey/predator priority at blocking. to go counterclockwise this way is maybe adding difficulty but getting decision clockwise would have make them too simple...

snegiem

Another advantage of this card: when you give intercept to a minion, if he does not block with success, the intercept is lost... but if you give -1 stealth to an action, any attempt to block will take advabtage of this bonus... A last word about blocks cross table. For ravnos/malkav deck, to block cross table : - normally you would need an eagle sight with intercept lost in case the block is not succedsful - with the drawing undue attention: you give all your minions both eagle sight and a bonus to block the action...
