Storyline Rewards 2015 Official release: February 21, 2015 Legal for Tournament Play: March 23, 2015 Among the core concepts of Storyline events is having the players contribute to the narrative of the World of Darkness as well as to the design direction of future cards in V:TES. Over the past several years, we've had unfinished business with respect to realizing these narratives in game form. The following cards represent the participation and contributions that you, the players, have made in the Storyline events, as well as the subsequent playtesting and feedback. We are grateful to all of you, and we look forward to providing more opportunities for you to help steer the direction of V:TES! As mentioned previously, we're still waiting for one piece of artwork to be delivered. As soon as the piece arrives, we'll update the Storyline Rewards .pdf file to include the card. Awesome. Most of those just begs to build decks with them

Ils it me or Malgorzata got BIG love here?

The font size on ADV Claudio Severino's text box seems to be somewhat small.. Finnish Politics!

New Blood is great

Vincent's typesetting algorithm does a good job, but in this case I think the merged text might be preventing the algorithm from bumping up to the next larger-sized font. The next size up might cause that merged text to be a two-liner.

Lönkka

Yeah, I kinda figured it might've been more or less on the wall between two font sizes but just wanted to check if it wasn't a concious decision to choose the smaller one (or if it was just a brain fart)... Finnish Politics!

Looks like lasombra got another non-sabbat vampire. While we are at it, can you give real sabbat lasombra some love. I think just assamites are more screwed sect wise than lasombra, and it speaks volumes. Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

Does anybody know when these will be added to secret library and Lackey?

Ezra

It's already on Lackey. Dunno about Secret Library. Maxime Socroun, 3200321

Nice additions! Very very powerful cards. Bit of power-creep here and there, but I ultimately prefer that from time to time over extra Wallpaper. (ouch, some older 11-caps like Hazimel, Etrius, Augustus, the Dark God, Gwendolyn take a serious beating here...). In the early days +2 bleed and a special it was, now it is +2 Bleed & +1 Strength/+1 Intercept & multiple specials... wow. some questions: _ Probably self-explanatory, but can Vlad Tepes play and use 'No Secrets from the Magaji' or 'Chameleon'? _ Is 'New Blood' intended to be non-unique? (the name, the 'Any' in the grouping, the low capacity all seem to point in that direction) Thanks

Ankha

'Any' grouping and the low capacity don't point out in any direction. It is unique, just as the Anarch Convert. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

While we are at it, can you give real sabbat lasombra some love. > > > BEcause Lasombra are currently so bad off that they really need way more support? > Most clans have two in game clans, thus easier to create decent crypt with disciplines. 6 clans out of 13 don't. All independent ones, Tzimisce and Lasombra. Out of those, 4 are independent clans with clan cards that don't really care about sect. Which leave us just two clans that somewhat rely on sabbat toys, like the other sabbat clans that shouldn't exist in the game but exist (!bru, !nos, !mal, !tor, !tre, !gan, !ven) [it's really long discussion why they shouldn't exist as standalone clans, let's not derrail the thead any further]. Tzimisce have really solid G2-G3 grouping allowing strong midcap and highcap decks that use sabbat tech. On the other hand, G2-G3 Lasombra have just good highcap crypt that use sabbat tech, and decent (dom-obt, pot-obt don't have any good grouping atm) G3-G4-G5 mid-cap group that can't use sabbat tech along with lasombra tech as it uses many non-sabbat or non-lasombra vampires (mainly kiasyds, oneado and badr). To be fair, Lasombra isn't in bad state despite it lack of strong allies (abbysal Hunter is, eh, not very good), unique actions (drink the blood and political struggle are both underwhelming. Zaire isn't bad, isn't that useful either, san nicolas is wallpaper), unique reactions (have none). It have some decent masters (power structure is good, +1 stealth is average, path is path). But their disciplines alone make them the game, who need good action when you already have best (govern), who need reactions when you already have best (deflection), stealth is always good as an option (especially one with combat end), so are s:ce. Their latest combat additions aren't bad either, just as new sabbat toys for midcap decks (under siege, mainly). The only problem is, Lasombra don't have good POT-OBT crypt as g3-g4 grouping is abysmal. I had to use 7 cap with no special rules just to make the deck!. But back to Storyline Rewards, new Lasombra is decent vampire n it's own, it's just the thing that G4-G5 grouping have 5 vampires out of 21 who aren't sabbat (Tzimisce have 5 out of 23) (wait a sec, why Tzimisce have more vampires in grouping than lasombra?). EDIT: okay, my bad, Montano is G3. He is also the best vampire for baltimore purge deck, and work nice with old power vampires (mocanda and 9 cap archbishops._. how can 9 cap archbishops with no meaningful special be any good?). Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

So far, there was only one crypt card of groyping "ANY", and that card was unique (which would probably point to the opposite direction to that you're referring to).

Why stress about whether some belong to a different sect? Not really important in MOST decks. You're also totally wrong about the Allies, Nocturnal is one of the strongest Allies there is! I already noted it. I just can't build good lasombra that uses new shiny card, and asking for it is justified. I don't think current decks would include group 5 Sabbat Lasombra with capacity 5, my deck on the other hand would love such addition. Most decks don't use Under Siege, and for a good reason: it require blocking, thus running those little red card most lasombra deck loathe. Guess who would love to use Under Siege ? Right, that 6 cap OBT POT dom laibon, that 8 cap OBT POT dom Camarilla Prince and that 7 cap DOM POT OBT Independent lasombra. I already said that it's DISCIPLINES, not clan and sect that drive most Lasombra decks. Nocturn is OBT card, it doesn't require you to be lasombra to play it, just like Govern require DISCIPLINE to play. Speaking again about sect, many successful Lasombra political decks run Camarilla Prince - Mr. Vitel, because sabbat don't really have good political cards like parity shift that require title, therefore you don't care if somebody is from different sect or not. Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

Most of those vampires are suboptimal. The best vampire here are Badr and Lord Vauxhall, then Virgine and Otieno. Black Wallace, Gianmaria and Condrad are filler vampires who you don't really want to influence out. No one of those (all of tehm) have any interesting special/disciplines/title combination. Yet it works quite well, thanks to dominate magic. I'm not calling for Tremere treatment (check g2-g3 Tre/!Tre crypt trying to build AUS/THA/dom deck, you literally have two 5 capacity vampires, 6 cap with all superiors, two 6 cap with AUS/THA/dom, 7 cap with AUS/DOM/THA and +1 cept, 3 cap with THA/aus, 7 cap with AUS/DOM/THA and 2 votes and planty other with good discipline/special to capacity ratio. Now imagine that THA is OBT, and AUS is POT, and you can build good OBT POT deck with it). And exactly this kind of issue SUCKS. That camarilla clans got unfair advantage due to duplicate crypt options. Lasombra, Tzimisce and independent clans are disadvantaged due to that stupid design choice, and they didn't get any compensation for it. Crypt (12 cards; Capacity min=5 max=9 avg=6.5) ============================================== 1x Andrew Emory 5 aus dom pot OBT Lasombra:4 2x Antón de Concepción 9 aus ANI DOM OBT POT Lasombra:4 2x Dr. Julius Sutphen 5 dom obt POT Lasombra:3 1x Ermenegildo, The Rake 5 pot DOM OBT Lasombra:4 1x Giangaleazzo, The Traitor 8 dom OBT POT PRE Lasombra:4 2x Lord Vauxhall 7 DOM OBT POT THA Lasombra:4 1x Otieno 6 ani dom OBT POT Lasombra:4 2x Virginie, Prodigy 6 obt DOM POT Lasombra:4 It's my current crypt, but it sucks. So many suboptimal choices, almost feel like wasted deck. G3 doesn't have many great choices for this deck. To be fair, just Julius, who is decent vampire for the deck that use Under Siege. G5 would have another two vampires who can't use under siege: Gianmaria and Badr. Perhaps Black Wallace would be good choice instead of Giangaleazzo, but i like that vampire (not that it lost me last final having him in my crypt instead of some useful vampires like Julius or Lord Vauxhall or Virgine. Sabbat.Black Hand Shakar: Lech loathe ranged weapons. Once each action, he may burn 1 blood to become Camarilla Prince of Krakow until the end of the action.

I agree that to make Lasombra and Tzimisce more interesting they should get something and an obvious something is a bunch of additional vampires, with the main splits being Sabbat and Laibon but with a few others. The problem with this is that people equate more options with more power, which, actually, does often end up being the case, and neither is hurting that bad powerwise. For a similar example, see how little enthusiasm there is for creating more Camarilla or Camarilla Clan cards, even though it's easy to make cards that don't help P/J decks or ICM decks. On the other hand, saying that Tzimisce have a great 2/3 crypt is an awful argument. Those were cards largely printed about 15 years ago. Malks have a great group 1 crypt in that Aus/Dom/Obf is one of the best discipline combinations possible even if many of the specific vampires are limited and somewhat lacking. That's not an argument for avoiding printing any useful Malks. And, we've certainly seen lots of quality Malks in later groups. Traveller Card Game

On the other hand both Lasombra and Tzimisce have not many clan cards, as they were created with though that they can use generic sabbat cards alongside thir clan cards, which is no longer the case in 3-4-5 grouping. > ICL wrote: > I agree that to make Lasombra and Tzimisce more interesting they should get something and an obvious something is a bunch of additional vampires, with the main splits being Sabbat and Laibon but with a few others. On the other hand, look at !Gangrel, they have weird discipline spread, and despite belonging to single sect they were given additional vampires in each grouping. I also have little enthusiasm in creating camarilla cards and their clan cards. Mostly because those clans have their mirror clan in sabbat if they need better crypt choices, and aren't screwed when it comes to their own crypt choices (look at number of princes/justicars in best ventrue grouping, 5 cap, two 6 caps, 7 cap, 8 cap, 9 cap, some 10 caps, 11 cap ic, not counting other good vampires) and their power cards (traditions, parity shift, broken stupid justicar master card that let you steal great vampires). > ICL wrote: > On the other hand, saying that Tzimisce have a great 2/3 crypt is an awful argument. GOOD Cammy: -Alastor -Anathema -Archon -Accounting -Domain -Masquarade -Judgment: Cammy Segregation -Parity Shift -Temptation of Greater Power -Progeny -Justicars Good Sabbat: -Abbot -Black Forest Base -Creation Rites -Under Siege -Yawp Court -Cardinal Benediction -Legacy of Pander So what if sabbat have 77 sect card and cammy boytoys just 58, when power level of the former is few times worse than the latter ? Yes, there is reason to be rank-and-file sabbat as you benefit from Abbot, BFB, YC and US, but on the other hand benefit from being titled sabbat vampire is way worse than benefit from power titled cammy boy (Prince+, Primogens are just as shafted as rank-and-file). The only reasonable reason to be untitled cammy is Judgment: Camarilla Segregation. Anyway, there are about 110 Brujah + !Brujah compared to 46 Lasombra/Tzimisce vampires, it's damn obvious that Brujah (any cammy clan, really) will have more options (i'm not saying better, just more - but people often think more=better)compared to shafted core mighty sabbat clans. To beat a dead horse, being a Primogen is (on average) a detriment not a positive. The one attempt to do anything for them was a bust. Creating cards with "Requires an untitled Camarilla vampire.", "Burn this card if you control a titled Camarilla vampire.", or whatever to make cards nonsynergistic with the good Camarilla effects is easy. Possibly not terribly thematic if overdone, but easy. More variety is something everyone should receive, though obviously the weaker clans have an argument that they should get it to stop being so weak. As I'm not attracted to power but rather to variety, I find the Cam clans the least appealing to play and have felt that way for many years. But, anyway, more than one thing can be true at the same time. Lasombra and Tzimisce should get more because they are being treated as just more clans when they are something a lot more than that in the IP. Meanwhile, the original four Indies just have an absurd number of cards relative to these two Sabbat clans. Traveller Card Game

It is *something*. To be fair, i see argument that cammy need some decent non-P/J cards as valid. Attempt to made primogens suck less was not really successful. Red List making - failure, scourge political card - not bad, not great either. There is a lot of design space left for camarilla, let's just say that there is no card in game to represent position of seneshal. Person who does the dirty stuff for princes and often take over their position when they are ousted. It's not title in vtes, and can be an action/master card. There are totally not represented harpies, as well. There is also Sheriff, who also isn't represented well within vtes. It's just scratching the surface. Original indie clans are starting to get viable after last expansion, and despite large card pool for each, they weren't in great spot before it. But, but, i started it as a whine about lacking aspects of great sabbat vampres, why you dare to redirect this thread into other clans/sects that are lacking something ?
