Arf... Is it only me or JOL is down ? Was playing my first game there -

Omelet

It's been down since this morning. Not sure when it will be corrected.

Omelet

JOL is back up. There was some corruption in the games.

Omelet

Looks like JOL is down again.

sor_garcya

...and again, see date/time for more info Regards, Sor

koko Loco

Anyone have any word when JOL will be back online? I'm going through cold turkey and I nooo like it. Maybe they are getting rid of the "null-bots" and/or adding the extra card sets

Klaital

Yeah I would like to get it back up too as I got a whole bunch of decks saved there that would have hard time remembering the lists for without it!

shade

Glad I'm not the only one with a bunch of decks only on JOL!

Blooded Sand

Agreed, down for too long, and I have the most of my decks saved there. Heard seething from KMJ that apparently the disk is full, no idea who the hosting company is but sounds like it might be an issue with them. Oh well, I'm going to try get some games going on Lackey, anyone in?

Blooded Sand

Does anyone know if JOL is ever coming back up again?

There is only one admin, and he does it as a volunteer project. The problem is that there is zero security vetting for new users, so bots auto add themselves with no problems what so ever. Also, h owner of the site refuses to allow any help to be given for recoding the site.

I gave up after a few months of sending proposal for help and receiving no answer at all). It can only work if either someone handles it seriously, or if multiple persons help a little. But I hope for those that are still on JOL that it will get fixed soon. Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

I think it's time to work together on a replacement.

sor_garcya

Replacement sounds great, but I guess, it will not be cheaper as JOL

shade

I dunno about cheaper. I donated both times Kevin asked and I reckon at least 10 others did as well based on the responses in the chat window. I would be happy to pay $5/$10 a month to play no worries, and I reckon heaps of people would as well, just be nice if as Ankha said George replied to offers of help.

BenPeal

Apparently it's back up: www.deckserver.net/jol3/beta

Blooded Sand

Back up, however, this has left me with a serious question fr you guys vekn.net/forum/5-generic-vtes-discussion/71654-online-play-by-mail-alternative#71654 That thread discusses creating an alternative to jol, let me know if you would be interested, and if yes, in what way you would be interested in helping.

Omelet

On both my phone and computer, JOL is redirecting to a go daddy page, saying that the domain is down since July 22nd

shade

Same for me - looks like George just needs to renew his domain name subscription.

Klaital

Its back up now.
