Name: The Cult of Enlightenment Cardtype: Event Gehenna. Each Methuselah can't play more than one non-trifle master card each turn. Each Methuselah gets two discard phase actions each turn (instead of one). Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

I really like the concept of this one! Would be fun with Ashur Tablets but then you don't get the advantage of the 2nd master phase. Could work really well with Sudario Refraction, especially mid-late game.

What about "gets an additional dicard phase action" since nehemiah and unmada already give similar stuff?

Ankha

To have two DPA is more restrictive than having an additional discard phase, as it doesn't cumulate with similar effects (though none exists today). Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

Each Methuselah gets two discard phase actions each turn (instead of one). > Overall, I quite like the thrust. You might potentially play it if you have more use for discard phase actions (e.g. wanting to play events with one, but still cycle your hand). So it's not a total silver bullet, in the sense that the only thing it does is hurt MMPA. And it semi-compensates the MMPA, which can at least discard some of the cards. I wouldn't personally make it a Gehenna Event, since that facilitates playing other nasty Gehenna events, which is possibly a little too much. A minor thematic tweak to make it a Government card or Inconnu card or something like that would, I think, be better. "Global Surveillance Network / Government", "Purifier Intervention / Inconnu", whatever.

The idea is (as always with mmpa hosers ) likeable but I have two (very minor) pieces of criticism : - contrary to James I think it is very silverbulletty. If you want to play with extra discards you'll use PB:LA or other discard enablers instead of granting an additional DPS to everyone. So the only point to play it is to piss that guy that plays Anson or Girls -which is not particularly bad or unheard of in this game but still... - even if MMPA decks are widely hated, do they deserve a card that completely shut down what they are built around (in other words : almost completely ruin their game) without being able to do anything about it (other than having Not to Be in hand at the right time or trying to oust the guy that played the event). I am not sure. Also, that "non-trifle" clause should be "non-non Villein-trifle". Villein is a regular master disquised as a trifle after all

Making it a Gehenna make it also sensitive to Fourth Cycle (and black hnad/ dem cards but they're not relevant in a MMPA deck). Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director

(too severely for the lack of exit options the affected decks will have) Also, Uncoiling and 4th Cycle are unlikely since the MMPA deck will want to play Anthelios (or so I think)

Yes, it screws a little MMPA decks. But MMPA decks are a bit against the spirit of the game, which is based on interactions between players (block/no block, vote for/against...). With Masters, there are no interaction without specific library cards (whereas actions can be blocked without library cards). Prince of Paris, France Ratings Coordinator, Rules Director
