I'm Andrew Chirgwin, I started playing in about 2000/2001 at my FLGS in Blacktown, Sydney Australia. The first deck I ever played was a Nosferatu Flung-Junk deck that would have required each vampire to have a mobile steel-forge travelling around with them to supply the large number of sewer lids that were thrown at everything. The first deck I made was a Bruise-Bleed Brujah deck based off two CE starters mixed and matched and other stuff tossed in like Sports Bikes... Allison Maller became famous for blocking my predator roughly 5 times in the one turn, then three times in the next turn... Allison, Sports Bike, .44 Magnum... LOTS of WWEF. I am a married gamer, a teacher, lover of maths, science, boardgames and nerdy things in general. Haven't always had the best tournament ranking, but then I tend to consciously take along some fairly wacky decks to tournaments (but my most recent wacky but moderately competitve deck was my Anarch Ravnos Bleeders). I'm Peter Bakija. I've been playing this game for a really long time, and making trouble on the internet most of that time. I'm the Prince of Ithaca, NY. We still have a reasonably strong play group, host moderately regular tournaments, and even occasionally have a Qualifier.

Hey there, I'm Marcin Szybkowski, I've been playing the game since 1996. I was the Prince of Warsaw between 2005 and 2010, where along with a friend of mine we built the Warsaw V:TES community, pretty much from the scratch. I was also the forum moderator for Polish V:TES community for several years. I've been responsible for coordinating national events and obtaining event support, both for the tournaments I organised and national events managed outside of my domain. I had great influence in unifying the community and later on - supporting our National Coordinator in creating the first Polish V:TES League (which reached the second edition this year). I have successfully organised 3 National Qualifiers and 3 National Championship events in the last few years. In Febuary 2010 I moved to Auckland, New Zealand and therefore passed the Prince title and responsibility to a friend of mine, who's been helping me for years. On a side note - it is quite ironic that when I moved out to another part of the globe, the European Championships actually hit my home town Currently I'm looking at expanding the playgroup here in Auckland (which looks like a massive challenge, but we'll see how it goes) and hoping that I can make it to this year's Australian Championships. Marcin, Hope you enjoy living in the "Unofficial Extra State of Australia". Come play in Sydney when you get the chance. AFAIK the Australian Continental Championships (otherwise nicknamed the Nationals) for 2011 will be held in Adelaide, South Australia on the first weekend of October (October 1st, 2nd & 3rd). heh tell that to Kiwis and see the rage going on seriously though, yeah, it's really enjoyable and I always wanted to check out this part of the world. looks like I'm going to hang around for a while. I really like it over here, the lifestyle is way more relaxed than in Europe and US (and I did have my fair share of traveling around the globe). I do happen to work for an Australian company (Sydney based), so there's a chance I'll end up in the main office for some training etc. If that comes true, I'll poke you about playing, you can count on that. I know Simon Reed has been coming over there to AUS now and then, occasionally kicking your behinds in the process I haven't met him personally, but we've emailed a bit some time ago. 'Allo peoples. Some may know who I am, especially if you've been to a MI(USA) tourney. I'm a regular on Path of Blood which most of you know as the Assamite forum. Some would call me the Assamite Guy, the Salmon player, or the Self Ouster. Not to mention a number of less than polite terms. Technically I've been Prince of Detroit since the previous Prince, the infamous Noel, stepped away from the game and went to the "Sleep of Ages." However with the sporadic nature, not to mention distance between play groups in MI, I haven't run a tourney since the first Laibon set and the Storyline in that time frame. Ralf from Paderborn , Germany. I started playing VtES back in 1994 to 1996 when attending university. I came back to the game in late 2003, when Andreas Nusser showed me the game is still alive and kicking during the Essen Game Fair 2003. I usually play in the playgroups of Bochum and Gelsenkirchen. Since I am often traveling (jobwise) in Germany, I visit the playgroups in the cities (Munich or Frankfurt for example) where I am working during the week. In VtES I like decks taking many actions, so I often end up with ally or weenie decks. All of my tournament winning decks have an average capacity below 4. So if you encounter me in a tournament and I play midcap or fatties, you can relax .. I am no threat. Oh, and I happen maintain a VtES blog .

I have organised the first EC ever in 1999, and the ones in 2000 and 2002 in Vienna. I have also been VEKN membership director for a couple of years. Oh okay... I'm Dave Knowles (Adv, there's two in the UK VTES scene), and I'm one of the troublemaking Manchester playrgoup in the UK. I've been playing since the late 90's, and my cards sat unused in a cupboard for about 5 years until on a whim, I suggested the game to a group of work colleagues. Years later, the group is around 8 potential players, one of them (John Best) has a TWD, we all have pretty substantial collections and play every week within our office. Hey All, John Worrall here. From Australia, but only picked up the game last year when i moved to Singapore. A small and relatively isolated community, we still try and get in games two nights a week. I like to play less than normal decks, favoring strange discipline combinations. with that, i tend to lean away to clan decks and look more at vampires with interesting out-of-clan disciplines.

Hello to all of you, I'm Lenoir Manuel, Prince of Jodoigne (Belgium). Player of VTES since the camarilla edition (2002), I've tried to made a small community in Belgium (French speaking side of the country)...with success. I had a small torpor period between June 2009 and October 2010. For my return on the front of the game I've made a good result, and won the Draft french championship. I don't really have favourite kind of deck, I just try to find some surprising deck...because now, you can make a "winner" deck just if you read internet webpages... Then, I try to make my own idea of deck, and try to win...It's not easy, not succesful all the time... but that grant's me a lot of fun.

My sister lives in Stockholm so when I visit I meet with their playgroup as well. Started playing this game around 95/96 when I met up with some fuckhead who turned me off from all card games, until about the time that Final Nights came out and I got back into the Jyhad. I am infamous for drinking too much, cussing too much, and being a bit 'boisterous'. I try not to be an ass, or an asshole, but it doesn't always work.

I'm Dan, also part of the Manchester (UK) playgroup and work with Dave Knowles (Adv) from a previous post (we have enough V:TES players working at the same company to allow us to have regular games after work). I'm one of the much newer players, having only started playing at the introduction of KoT at the end of 2008 (although my card collection's almost into five figures now - scary how quickly it's grown). I got into the game by always going to lunch with Dave (Shockwave) and John (BeAst), and wondering what the hell they were talking about, after they'd stopped playing table-top WH40k and started playing V:TES instead (and talking about it quite a lot). So, I eventually asked if I could sit in and watch a game, and well, my first starters were bought not that long after! Have continued to splurge money on lots of new cards, since then, instead of paying more money off my mortgage - ahh well, the crazy things you do! So far, my record is two tournaments, two VPs (both in the 2010 UK ECQ in Burton), am hoping to improve on that...

Its never too late! I'd recommend that you get Third Edition and stick with it, as it will be plentiful for a while.

I started playing V:TES in 1997 at the time of the famed double boosters of the Sabbat expansion. In the first phase of torpor of the game (before White Wolf took over) our playgroup (Braunschweig, Germany) designed new cards, most notably the Dyraceen and Lycaon clan. I am notorious for my bad tournament record, losing with decks others got in the final with in a similar environment. At the moment I am Prince of Bremerhaven, Germany. So if there is anyone willing in that area to play, just let me know.

I'm also a musician and many other things, and i always enjoy building off the wall decks. i'm not the prince of anything, since you can't swing a dead kine in ohio without hitting half a dozen princes or our Antedeluvian. also, i'm known as "Corey 44" because the rumor is i put a 44 mag in each deck (a half-truth...). i hope to see everyone who can make it @ the NAC this year.

Play jyhad/vtes from the beginning. Started to play in tounaments after I met Johannes and Andreas in 2000. First EC for me was Vienna, since when I only missed Barcelona. Been twice in the EC Finals. Love the suspension and to give the spectators a good show. Like to play decks that are building up slowly, have a good defense and can oust. I was introduced in the game by Melalaer Prince of Jodoigne and enjoy it even if my results are pretty bad. And as bad in tournament than in casual play.I could be named the "almost no VP guy". I already played some tournaments in Brussels with Emilianon Imeroni (Prince of Brussels) and many other belgian, french, dutch and german guys. I played some in North of France also. And it was every time funny and enjoying. I began to play a simple S&B Malkavian deck, but I try to make sometimes different theme deck with more or less succes (often less). But I keep trying. My name is Jordan Beall, from Charlotte, NC I learned to play VTES on Jan. 9, 2002 from R. David Zoph (Atomweaver) at the Borders Books & Music. Final Nights and Bloodlines were the first expansions I was exposed to. After Atomweaver moved to Connecticut, I was, for a time, Prince of Charlotte (and may be again soon). Hi Matt from Nova Scotia here. Always wanted to learn how to play this game. Was sad to learn it is now canceled by WW. I was looking to get a copy of the players kit as it seems to be the best way to learn but cannnot seem to find any except for one that is on amazon for $999.99! Anyone know of any players active in Nova Scotia that would be willing to teach a newb and anyway to get a hold of some good learn to play decks also ? The players kit seems the best but is either sold out or as stated earlier massively overpriced.

What about the demonstration decks from 2002 ? I found them on ebay for $15.00. Better, just as good, not as good as the players kit ?

The demo decks (with the Pawn expansion symbol) are no good for play. They have enough of the game to demonstrate how to play, how to understand the symbols and the parts of a turn. They do not have enough cards to play in a regular game. (Rules indicate 40 card minimum.) I don't know of anyone in Nova Scotia, but you can check out the other Canadian specific V:TES sites, here: www.vtes.ca/lurk/ www.la-cellule.org/VEKN/ If you will pay for postage, I can send you 4 starters from the Black Hand expansion, which will be a much better starting point than the demo decks or the player's kit. I got the Black Hand ones. Malkavian and Toreador antitribu. After reading the rules I realized I needed at least one or two more so I grabbed a Tremere one just before playing my first game. I really like the toolboxiness of the Tremere and hardly even touched the other two. Then I bought the Tzimisce Sabbat war starter and played them and the Tremere for the most part during my first year.

Hi all, I'm Stewart MacLeod, aka. Disco Stu, Prince of Melbourne, Australia. The Melbourne playgroup is probably the second- or third-biggest in Australia (although that's still not much by European/North American standards), and is split fairly evenly between those that remember the WOTC days, those that came in around Final Nights, and others who've joined the game in the last couple of years. I first picked up Jyhad in late 1994 and have played regularly since early 1995. I remember those early, heady days... for many months, a Spirit's Touch I'd pulled from my first booster was the sole intercept card in my collection! My deck interests tend toward seemingly bizarre combinations of disciplines and special abilities. My favourite decks are those that can change gear quickly mid-game, surprising opponents with unexpected lunges. For example, I had a Tupdog KRC deck that then influenced out a !Tremere and ousted via the multiple dunking of a Famous prey, or an Unre deck that eschewed Slaughterhouses to use Form of Corruption + Lazarene Inquisitor. Unfortunately, my decks can be a little fragile, and I often don't have the patience to playtest them extensively. I played the game a bit when it first came out, but didn't stick with it. I didn't really get serious about the game till I came back to it in 2005. When I discovered that a Stanislava deck that I made from nothing but some Jyhad and Dark Sovereigns I owned could still win tournaments, I was impressed at the lack of power creep. I've been playing since then, and travelling around for tournaments since 2006.

Hello there! Just found this thread and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Max Ogden, I'm a student at Nottingham University and when I'm not there I live in Norfolk, UK. I've only been playing for a couple weeks, but have been spreading the love and now have a small group of friends who are willing to play the game and have taken to it well. When I return to Nottingham I plan to start a playgroup there. I have a space I can use there, and will probably try and buy in some prize support. My aim is to have roughly 12ish playable decks, all of different clans, all doing a variety of things. This would allow me to teach a table of players as well as offering them variety, and also run three 4 man tables if I get that much interest. I have been playing ccg's for about 6 years now, mostly Magic and L5R, but also the Spoils and the WoW TCG, and have had some measure of success within them. However, I feel that V:tES is the best I've ever played, and that's after only a few games. I also roleplay and play other games, notably Heroes of Newerth and Starcraft II, nicely rounding out my geek credentials.

I'm Caroline Hyll from Stockholm, Sweden. I learnt to play this game in 2004 when I studied in the smallish town of Örnsköldsvik. VTES was something of a refugee for the nerds in the town, since most of its habitants rather fancied sports. My first deck was a Final Nights Setite starter. I like the multiplayer aspects of this camme and, of course, the deck building and strategic parts. My favorite kind of decks are vote decks and toolboxy deck but I have fair share of block- and combat decks too. I usually attend the European Championships. It's difficult to beat the combination of seeing new cities, of lots of VTES, and of nice people.

Hi from South Africa I've been playing VTES since roughly 1998, when a friend introduced me. I had fewer than 200 cards for a while, mostly a few donations and some boosters. I moved to a city with some stock which I started buying up until I was able to source lots more cards from the US (Ebay and Potomac Distribution FTW). These days I have probably 20,000 cards although I'm not a fervent collector. I prefer donating cards to new players in order to have people to play with and also prefer actually playing with the cards, than trying to have copies of amazing rares. I find VTES much more enjoyable than the other CCG's I've tried, since it brings a strong social aspect to the game, along with the complex dynamics on 5-player tables and the huge variety of deck ideas. Our playgroup in the adjoining cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria has see-sawed over the years, although there's a stable core group of about 6-8 people who've stuck around. These days there's some renewed interest again and we have a large group in far-away Cape Town which probably exceeds ours in both size and regularity of events. It's incredibly saddening that WW's no longer supporting it, since we're enjoying good support here for a change. I only hope things will change again through the sustained support of the VTES community.

I'm Tom and in Michigan USA. Played from day 1, have been mostly inactive for the past several years as I raise young children and work full time. I might still be the Prince of Pontiac, MI. Not sure. I haven't run any tournaments and don't have the time to do so, but am willing to help folks find playgroups, buyers/sellers for their cards, etc. I did the painting that is on the Toy card. Hi I'm Rolf from the Netherlands. After a couple of games in 1995 I went in torpor until a couple of years ago. After MtG, I was inspired by some old Jyhad players and set up an endless draft system I also used in MtG. This has worked so well, that I got 3 Methusulah in torpor and about 4 new players to play almost every week for over 2 years now. Because of the endless draft, you get to savour almost every card you get and need to be creative to get a working deck. I haven't done a lot of tournaments, mainly because most decks are centered around one trick which I don't like much. It sucks that V:tes is out of print, but I hope that VEKN can still produce some interesting products (do I see some Kindred of the East around that corner?!)

I am Jason Liang. I used to game with the Castro Valley, San Francisco and LA players in California and the Atlanta players in Georgia. But my antedeluvian powers of obfuscation are so immense and I've also been in China for 5 years that most players probably don't remember anything about me. I designed some of the Bloodline discipline symbols while I was interning for White Wolf: Obeah, Thanatosis, Spiritus, Temporis, Melpominee and Valeran. I designed the chalice icon for Mytherceria but later after I left someone decided to slap the obscure Unseelie clan symbol on there. Finally yes I designed the Visceratika symbol but the weird one they chose to use was only a mock up, it wasn't supposed to be the final design. Let all know that Joel has my cards...

Hi everybody, I'm Brendan and I live in Eatern Pennsylvania. I played a ton of VtES back when it was Jyhad, and would love to get back into the game. For now I'm trying to look for players in the area. I was very surprised to see that sets were being produced as late as 2010, but then equally surprised to learn that they've been discontinued.

I am Eric Schultheis and have been playing since the Jyhad release. I am a regular to the Berkeley, California playgroup, and occassionally travel to other San Francisco Bay Area cities for games or tournaments. When I started playing in Santa Barbara I didn't find a playgroup, and played very poorly. Still trying to become a better player. I initially liked the Toreador and then the Giovanni. Currently trying to play a variety of different decks to learn unfamiliar cards and strategies. In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice...

I posted in the general section but just found this thread. My name is Oliver and I have lived in south florida all my life. I began playing Jyhad along with MTG and Battletech RPG at a place called tool mart that actually had a gaming shop in the back called the hidden guild! I went there in my early teens every friday but grew out of it and into more unacceptable behaviors. Recently i found my old collection of Jyhad cards ( which had tons of every card except the rares which i had seperated and lost years ago) and have been obsessing ever since! Hopefully i will either find an existing group here in the Miami/Broward/Palm Beach county area or i will create one!!

Recently I found all my old Jyhad and Rage cards when I was cleaning out my parents' storage space. Used to play them both all the time as a teenager, but Jyhad was the local favorite. The guys that ran this tiny comic shop above a tanning salon in my hometown used to run Jyhad nights before they went out of business sometime in the late 90s. It's cool to see people are still playing this so many years later. Magic didn't kill it after all! Anyway, I'm living in Portland, Oregon these days. I'm from Mallorca but I'm currently living in Lillehammer, Norway and have been playing the game forever, but i slowed down my tournament attendance and regular matches for the last 8 years, and I stopped playing completely 6 years ago. I have never been a player that settled for standard builds because i considered them, well, boring. I believe I have a few very weird (for the time they were done) TWD decks including the first Rock Cat TWD in 2003 and an anarch deck from 2004 that I can seriously swear it worked, just don't know how atm. I believe I have about 90 brujah debates, so that also gives a clue about what sort of decks i lean to enjoy playing the most. And Karsh of course. Who in his right mind doesn't enjoy to play Yojimbo deck? Even a broken clock is right twice a day

Due to a lot of people quiting mid game do to my fondness of bums rush and assault rifles mixed with the bluring speed of Toreador, the game got shelved for about a decade. while inactive i did get more cards but never played. now Ive relinked with a member of the old group and his NEW play group and im trying to update my tactics to the new card pool and larger pplay community (lackey)

Just dont get too discouraged about the rules, it easier just to play with folks then reread the rulebook. There are groups around the dc area, and several in ohio, if you want to drive to tournaments eventually. There used to be more traveling for that sort of thing than there currently is.....

Yesterday, I ranked Top 5 in the Portuguese National Championship with this deck. I currently play in a LGS in Amadora, Portugal. Just real quick, as is, his Ira wall is kinda toolboxy, leaning hard on weenie aus with a smidge of celerity. Personally, i want to punish blockers more. Id use isabel de leon (3cap g2 torrie with superior aus), maldavis mayne, and id run some target vitals with maybe one or two sniper rifles. Thats if i went weenie aus with it. More likely, id go with more celerity. Id use sarah brando, 2 copies of volker, one victor tolliver and or parmeneides, and then: Cut all or all but one aura reading, sidestrike, wwef, amd forced awakening. Id then add pursuits, one more concealed, run 5-6 44 magnums, more second trads, 1-2 parity shift, tension in the ranks, dragonbound, less tastes(6 probably max) possibly one or two resist earths grasp, possibly crocs tongue if you add bleed actions, some rushes, including one or more nose of hound, only one rack, and then: You are still princes wall, with low cap princes, you fight and block some with supporters. I dont recall if powerbase monty is in that deck, but it should be. You sit and let table decelope early still, but then lategame and even midgame, you are a real risk to enemy actions. You could eagles sight and second trad and block most actions youd care about. Late game, weenie aus doesnt have the same bead removing efficiency as cel based combat, so id go with cel in combat here. Your red cards should be: blur, tastes, pursuit, psyche, sideslip, concealeds. You oust with jack, combat stuffs, and can bleed small like you probably do now. My first tourney i made finals with anson second trad, so cel guns princes is what i started on, first deck i build, so im assumimg your current playstyle may be aomething like mine. Welcome to vekn

Hi there, My name's Jay and I've been playing V:tES since 2002. I started out as a Tremere, but soon enough I stumbled upon Alamut, where I finally found home among the kindred assassins. Assamites are my main/signature clan, but I also play the other 'independent' clans such as Giovanni and Followers of Set (though I haven't tried building a Ravnos deck), and the Akunanse.

I'm new here, but no where close to new to the game. Been playing since 1996 or 97, up until a few years ago when my now ex-wife decided to throw out all three boxes of my cards. I've recently started rebuilding my collection, and have been looking at some different sites to buy or trade some cards from, and came upon this one. If anyone has any suggestions of places I can get cards for my collection, other than Ebay or Amazon, please let me know. I'm in Columbia. It's going to take me a little while to get used to the game again, but I've started rebuilding by buying a sealed box of starter decks, and i'm picking up some more stuff in a week or so. Once i get back into where I can start building decks, i plan to come to you guys on here for some advice.

Hes famous for ten copy lots of vamps from AH, DS, FN,SW,SE, and of coirse jyhad, as well as decent lots of older cards at good rates. Most staples, like govern, deflection, etc hes the same as the other big ebay stores(for instance, tazte of vitae is 50 cents a card at idasoft, bik_76, and rickstock, afaik) but if you need 3-10 copies of every g2 ravnos, all but 3(Ezmerelda, khalil, and gabrin) are probably $1-$1.80 for multiples. You get the idea. Its the cheapest way to quickly rebuild your cardpool, barrig winning tournaments with sealed prize support in massive amounts or having generous friends. Edit: oh, and its good to see folks who enjoyed vtm coming back into the game. Ive got all 14 clan novels, and eventually will probably snag the lasombra and brujah trilogies, along with the DA clan novels and the grail anr blood curse trios. Probably a good thing for my bank account theres not much more fiction that caught my eye, other than sort of the sonja blue stuff. Need to finish my WoD collection soon, though, before Hunter the reckoning becomes way more than its worth, or Ends of Empire gets to be $50+....

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check out his Ebay page. I'm currently rereading the Masquerade of the Red Death trilogy. I know the feeling about the prices going up. I hosted a V:TM game about 2 years ago, and had to buy about 20 of the RPG books just because different players kept asking me questions beforehand that I couldn't answer. On the "generous friends" note, it's actually a generous friend that got me started back in the 90s. i was hanging out with him, and he told me about the game, and gave me about 350 cards to start up my collection. lol

I didn't realize that there *was* a thread for announcing yourself. I've been remiss. My first name is Michael. I'm an attorney/philosopher living in Southern California (Orange County), where I don't get nearly enough time to play VTES. I started playing the week the game came out, and haven't stopped. I'm not a heavy tournament player -- mostly because I'm busier than crap and I hate playing with time limits. I hate master card decks and Pentex, think most of the Dark Sovereigns Location Master Cards should be errata'd to reduce their cost, believe strongly in the notion of house rules, prefer the Camarilla Edition format to all others both in terms of card layout and print quality, hold Villein to be a serious design mistake, hold the PTW rule in utter and total contempt, like playing Toolbox decks, can't stand it when people insist that the rules to this game are clear and unambiguous, and have spent more on sleeving my VTES decks than I did on Wine Futures last year. I'm happy to be a part of the VEKN community, because this is the best game since Poker. I actually like it more than Poker, but I'm objectively realistic about the fact that Poker is just simply a better game.

Ks, Red Death was removed from canon fiction, but not before cards that tied in made it to vtes cards. And yea, vtm was sourcebook heavy at times. Makes vtes rules look organized..... well, almost..... Legendre, i agree with alot of your views, but as a fan of my cards always doing what they say they do, i hate house rules. I also play tournaments though, and with a wide spread of people, so house rules arent so hot.... Ce layout is optimal in many ways, ive just become less picky about layouts due to cheapness. Pentex has its place, but can be annoying. I too detest master decks in thier current format. Running Anson and 22 masters in a combat deck is one thing, but tablets/liquidation/recursion spam needs to die. I incidentally love ashurs, and theyd be perfect if only useable on minion cards. Time limits have thier place, but if you enjoy toolboxes, you hate some moron taking 45 minute imbued turns making the game never get to where your deck thrives. I know the feeling.

Just got a 1st edition V:TES sealed starter box really cheap yesterday. 3 Jyhad starters, a bag of blood counters, and a sealed Jyhad booster pack were thrown in for free. good start to rebuilding my collection, I think. I've realized that I've been out of the game for so long that I don't even know about most of the expansions. The last cards I bought when I was playing were from The Sabbat. I wish I could find some of the older sets now, but no one seems to want to sell them. Hi I'm Jesse from Ohio and people call me Coraje. I played the Vampire the Masquerade RPG for years with my friends. Then I found out about the card game just a few days ago. Joined to learn more about it. Like card games and the Vampire RPGs or just White Wolf in general was good, I also like that there is a lot to this game. Hi all, I'm Andy from Aston PA, in the southwestern Philadelphia suburbs. I played V:TES back when it first came out, from Jyhad until Sabbat in '96, but kind of lost track of the game when WotC bailed on it. To add insult to injury, my friend was hanging on to all the cards collectively owned by me, my brother, and himself, and proceeded to throw them away when he moved. (A truly painful "my mom threw out my baseball card collection" moment!) All that remains from my original collection is a pretty sorry deck I had assembled at one point of Tremere and some Gargoyle / Visceritika cards I bought from the Bloodlines expansion on a whim. Fast forward to last year when I was talking to some V:TES players at Templecon, who got my interest piqued again. Over the past year I've acquired a few decks from eBay, conned my wife and another friend into playing a few games, and signed up for my first tournament in February at this year's Templecon. With any luck, maybe I'll jump start a new cult following at my local game shop!

Hi, I'm Chris Nelson, I live near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, in the UK (about 50 miles north of London). Started playing VTES after trying out the LARP, so maybe 1999/2000. Essentially stopped when I went to university in '03, guess I started playing again about ~2009 although I think only regularly since 2014. Most of my collection is G1-3 crypt and a few library cards after 10th anniversary, and mostly from the precon decks as opposed to boosters/singles. Current favourite deck: Samedi. When I've got some time next week, will work on a Harbingers/Samedi or Harbingers/!Ventrue deck and see how well that goes down the next time the local playgroup gets together.

Hello, kindred. I'm Juha Laukkanen, hailing from Helsinki, Finland. I'm a long-time fan of VtM and I started playing VTES about 1,5 years ago, but haven't actually managed to play it offline much during this time. I am primarily a magic the gathering player (started in '95) and a android:netrunner player, and all three mentioned games(and one other I play) essentially keep their offline gaming nights on exact same weekday (wednesday) here in Helsinki. Until recently I simply couldn't fit VTES to my schedule much, but lately netrunner has been trending down (I do not like the tournament meta currently) and I decided to concentrate more on VTES. I managed to put together a nice deck, my understanding of the game has grown, and I've been enjoying VTES last couple weeks so I will most likely continue playing it. I decided to register to this site now that my VTES is getting more 'serious'. I haven't been to any VTES tournaments yet, but I'm looking forward to it. It's interesting what you find by reading forums, after you are appointed prince (or well organizer i suppose, but in this games name for it is prince). Haven't before noticed this introduction of yourself thread. well, I suppose it's high time to do so. I'm Lauri from Finland, and I was just recently appointed as Prince of Vantaa. We used to have a monthly tournament with my playgroup, which is located in Helsinki, city next to Vantaa, but then we started having trouble finding places, I suppose, since our tournament organizers been getting family additions lately. Anyway I decided that since I do have a place where I could occasionally arrange for playing, why not try to wake up our tournament schedule once more, can't promise I'll do it monthly but if I manage to organize couple tournaments a year, well that's more than it's been for last year here. Hello everyone, I'm Fabio from Italy. I am an avid CCG/TCG player and collector. back in the days I played lots of them : VTES, Star Trek 1E/2E, Star Wars (Decipher), Magic the Gathering, METW, Kenshiro (Italian only), Illuminati, Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Kult, Dragonball and Mutant Chronicles. Then I had to stop for work and family for a long time, but I am trying to go back at least collecting them and eventually play them on Lackey, since in my area there's pretty much no community and I am far away from my old group. Recently I got to play Hearthstone, but grew bored pretty quickly, and Hex, still kinda actively playing it. I alway loved WoD, even in RPG PnP, so I had to go back to VTES. I hope to find help in re-learning the game and the deckbuilding strategies. See you on the forum !

Hi all, I've been lurking around this forum for over a year, and only recently started to comment, so I thought i'd formally say hello! I got my introduction to white wolf's Vampire by playing LARP with a group in Sunderland UK back in the day. I began playing VTES and collected cards up to the Bloodlines expansion. Moved away from the city and never managed to play again until early last year when I tracked down a couple of other players via the VTES UK facebook group. We've been playing every few weeks ever since with a playgroup of 4. We're having a push now, trying to get older players to dust their cards off and actively recruit new faces. Hopefully we'll be able to get enough bodies in one place for a tournament in the coming months! So if there is anyone in the vicinity of Liverpool UK please give us a shout if you fancy a few games! Also, Im a freelance artist. I recently volunteered my services to VEKN for future sets and they said yes. Hi, this is Juan. I'm a 35 years old geek from Barcelona, Spain. I have been playing RPG, Magic: the Gathering and tabletop games since 1994. I'll started playing VTES when Sabbat War came out and I have been playing moreless continously since then, sometimes in torpor, sometimes travelling to another countries to play. I love this game because still teaches me about social interaction, power dynamics and emotional control. I'm signing in because I want to stay in touch with the community and see what happens with this game in times to come. Nowadays, I got a minimalist approach to life in general and that also includes gaming. This means that I'm in less need of owning stuff, so in the future you will see me posting about getting rid/selling cards. But I'll l keep some decks to play/teach! I stopped playing/collecting after Nights of Reckoning, then came back when Keepers of Traditon came out. After the last release in 2010, the local V:TES scene stopped playing. Then,1,5 years ago, in a chance conversation with my neighbours (who'd lived next to my apartment for a few years) I discovered they actually had V:TES decks, and had looked for players in different towns. So now we're playing again (on a very irregular base, admittedly). And we've started playing a vampire: dark ages chronicle. Ah, sweet nostalgia

Hello. I'm KALITAS. I'm from Spain and new to the game. I discovered VTES a couple of years ago. I've been playing MtG since when I was a kid back in 1998 and among many other games, I played VtM in my teens (early '00s) so when I found about VTES I was blown away. I was very surprised I never knew about it before. I purchased 5 precon (4 KoT + 1 Brujah CE) decks without hesitation from a store who had them on sale (like 7€ each) but I never got to play with them despite I read the rulebook and watched some games in YouTube to learn the rules. Fast forward to the present: I just recently got the bug again and installed LackeyCCG on my laptop in hopes to finally jam some VTES games*** My next step after that would be to run a demo on a local game-con I help organize each year (next one in 5 months) and hopefully get some friends and locals hyped ***OK big question here: How difficult is it to find a group of players (I assume 1v1 is not the best way to start or even play at all) on LackeyCCG willing to have a total noob in their games?? How should I proceed?

I am Stephen Miller from Coon Rapids, Minnesota, USA. I started playing when Jyhad first came out back in 1994. I played and collected cards right up to when Sabbat was coming out in 1996. I played for a bit longer, but did not collect more cards, and then stopped playing all together sometime around 1997 or 1998. I recently found my old cards, dusted them off, sorted through them (just under 5000 cards), and decided I would start to make decks and get my friends to start playing it. That is where I am now. Brushing up on the rules, trying to remember strategies long forgotten, and beginning to build decks with what cards I have. Should be fun!

Hello All! I bought an Assamite Starter Deck many years ago at the Origins game convention in Columbus, Ohio, USA but I have never actually played V:TES. I'm a bit older than the gamers I used to meet at Origins, and really did not feel comfortable playing with people much younger than myself. For years I tried to find V:TES players closer to my own age, but no luck. It doesn't help that I'm an introvert with a very busy RL. Anyway, while I don't know any other gamers in northeast Ohio, for years I have read and re-read the V:TES rules. I am also a big fan of the Dark Ages: Vampire novels from White Wolf. At this point in my life (I'm close to retirement age and have other things on my mind) it's probably too late to think about playing V:TES face-to-face. But I would love to immerse myself in the game by reading about the gaming experiences of other people. I wish V:TES had solitaire rules!

The social aspect of the game is one of the most unique things about the experience, in my opinion. The game flows better than the rules make it seem. I sat on a Cam edition starter for years (as a fan of VtM) before getting tired of mtg and getting into vtes. I reccomend playing with live humans if the drive isn't too much to get down here. At any rate, welcome aboard.

Antonin, don't worry about the age, majority of us VTES players tend to be old farts so you'll fit right in... Finnish Politics!

We have an active playgroup in central Ohio (Newark/Heath). We play weekly and have tournaments every 2-3 months. I'm 59, and our playgroup ranges in age from 20 to 60. We'd be happy to have you join us and will have a presence at Origins again this year.

The store clerk was very friendly, but when I was looking nervously at the group of teenagers sitting at the gaming table, he said, "Hey! No problem! You're a kid at heart!" I hated to tell him that no, I'm not a kid at heart. I'm just a middle-aged man with a wife and a full-time job who enjoys science fiction and fantasy novels. Nothing against all the happy teens at the comic book store and Origins playing card games, but the idea of joining them just felt strange. Maybe someday I will play V:TES face to face with others, but for now I am happy to enjoy the game through the questions and stories of others here. It's not likely that we will make the trip this year, for obvious reasons, but maybe in 2023.

We here in Charlotte, NC USA have been holding more and more active meet ups and tournaments for the past couple years post-COVID. We average about one event a month currently. We just hosted a tournament this past weekend at Carolina Tabletop Games.
