hmmm... you look suspiciously like Sepultura's old lead man... Huge congratulations across the Atlantic, brother! Mr. Shy is a favorite of many good tasted Kindred.

While i love the vtm feel on most jyhad art and the cards as wholes, Shy and Snelly really have the vamps that stuck in my mind when i got into the game, just because of crypt art from bloodlines to cam ed.

While Shy did have some good art, I thought lot of his vampire portraits looked rather bland, and in some cases, he used the exact same picture for several portraits with just changing the colors some.

Yeah, too many very similar looking vampires wasn't that good a thing. Not bad art but just too much of the same thing. I do suspect that he was commissioned on the last minute to do a BIG pile of cards (probably to fill for someone who didn't make it to the deadline) which would explain why the cards are so similar. Finnish Politics!

Moncada especially. Then cam and anarchs have more full upper shots that are great. Id think using him on nossies wouldve been a good call, but oh well. Things needing wispyness he excels on.

His Nosferatu and Gangrel are sort of too pretty, though. Sebastien Goulet got advanced from fugly to Abercrombie and Finch model.

I dont just mean his art, either, since una is decently animal looking. Some gangrel should be pretty ish, but id expect more Basilia for ferals and Hartmut stover for titled ones. Tidy gangrel are wierd. Nossies can in theory obfuscate themselves to a level of ugly that puts others off and boosts thier own self image, so theres room there, imo. Shy has some great vamp art when i think on it, and some stuff that blends with itself is the opposite end of the spectrum with his stuff. Thematically appropriate always, but take Matthias: presumably a lonwr(matthias of Baath is in no books i own, who nows...) as a salubri in modern times, looks kinda unkept but still together. Muse is decnt, despite doc having less artistic cohesion than salubri in bl. Then you get several Lasombra looking like one another, and thats the least good stuff from him, again, imo. But really, we could, mayne should, spend a thread in artistic direction of crypt cards. Its kinda late, tho, since the indy set is possibly already getting work in.....

Another 7 or so cards were submitted to the Art Director for artwork as a result of Round One playtest feedback. Still plenty more artwork needed, so comments and suggestions - and artists! - are most certainly welcome.

Am i wrong?), and its from reading stuff online (mayne mr.gones vamp geneology page) i even gleaned it was probably Matthias of baath, its still a shot in the dark because Saulot got aroumd alot. If not for so many salubri being hunted to extinction in many regions, who knows how many there would be? Although ill concede Matthias is a very uncommon name, but John is the most popular first name, i believe, and there are as many Lucians as johns in vtes. Also, i think Wong is the most popular surname, and with our normal ommittance of last names, i think vtes hasnt any of those.... again, conjecture. Anyone wantimg to check Bens statement can buy me a bunch of vtm books..... i havent got that many, but ive got alot of vtes cards, and i could put my oldest son to work matching pictures

Clanbook: Gangrel (Revised) Dr. Allan Woodstock has the same artwork as the V:TES card. Ramona has different artwork than Ramona advanced, both by Shy. ...and there is a LOT of Christopher Shy art in Children of the Night.

I think most of the vampires from Cairo by Night also use same artwork in vtes, like Antara, Al-Muntaquim, and Al-Munthatir. Though it has been long ago when I browsed through that book so might remember wrong.
