Hi, today a player ask me if is legal use deflection or telepathic misdirection to redirect the target of bleed to itself just to cycle hand in head to head game. It's possible?
Ex.: 2 players in a game. Player A, bleed, player B decline to block and play deflection choosing himself as a new target of bleed since there is no more valid targets to choose.
Deflection, Reaction, 1 blood, Dominate
[dom] Only usable when you are being bled, after blocks are declined. Tap this reacting vampire. Choose another Methuselah other than the controller of the acting minion. The acting minion is now bleeding that Methuselah.
[DOM] As above, but do not tap this vampire.
Telepathic Misdirection, Reaction, 1 blood
[aus] +1 intercept.
[AUS] Only usable when a minion is bleeding you, after blocks are declined. Tap this reacting vampire. Choose another Methuselah other than the acting minion's controller. The acting minion is now bleeding that Methuselah.

I have bolded the part that prevent you from redirecting to yourself.

Both cards says ANOTHER Methuselah other than the ACTING minion's controller. Not reacting minion controler (who plays the Deflection / Telephatic)

You link together two part that should not be linked. There is two conditions :
* redirect to ANOTHER methuselah
* that another methuselah cannot be the one of the acting minion.
If you were right, it would be written :
>
> Choose a Methuselah other than the acting minion's controller
>
Like it is written on superior Blissful Agony :
> Strike: combat ends. Choose a minion controlled by a Methuselah other than the opposing vampire's controller. The opposing vampire enters combat with that minion.
>
Note that you can choose one of your own vampire with Blissful agony, while you cannot redirect to yourself with Deflection.
I prety now that is not possible do that, I just don't know how to explain it to player but now I can see.
When card say ANOTHER methulesah it says other than you (and the acting minion controler).

However, in a game with only 2 players left, you can redirect a bleed to yourself via My Enemy's Enemy, just in order to cycle a card.
That is possible due to a)you being your predator's predator in a 2-player game and b)this card, unlike others, doesn't specify that the new target cannot be an originally targeted player...

If it's easier, just point him/her at the ruling this came from.

"# That is, you cannot deflect to yourself."
The text about not redirecting to the acting minion's controller was added later, but that was always prevented anyway - you can't bleed yourself.

James' answer is pretty explicit, but I'll give another shot in explaining the sentence "Choose another Methuselah other than the controller of the acting minion." to the player.
"Choose another Methuselah" = Choose a Methuselah that is not YOU...
"other than the controller of the acting minion." = ...and the someone else can't be the Methuselah whose minion is bleeding.
I've underlined the key word.
So you HAVE TO choose another Methuselah which means you can't choose yourself.
So in two player situations Defections are dead cards in your hand.

Just as Reckless Agitation is a dead card in a duel.
Name: Reckless Agitation
Cardtype: Political Action
Cost: 2 blood
Requires an independent vampire with capacity above 4.
Allocate 6 points among two or more other Methuselahs. Successful referendum means each Methuselah burns 1 pool for each point assigned.

About Kiddo's comment:
Yes, My Enemy's Enemy is playable in duel, but since it is played after block attemps are declined (as all other bleed redirection cards), and since the target of the action doesn't change (which is what enables new block attempts declarations), if you play it in a duel, you don't get a new chance to declare block attempts.
Thanks for explanations.
The most problem here in Brazil is about language. Most of player doesn’t speak english well, someone’s also can't read the texts and ask the texts to other players and memorize the card image.
Due that fault most of players don’t read the rulebook and do not use vekn forums for rulings and clarifications.
As you can see not only players have problems with english, I have this problem too, due that don't post too much here.

Panish has quite a few similarities with portugese and thus could help to grasp certain concepts.
Sabbat. If this vampire's bleed is successful, he laughs manicly and untaps.
I can understand a spanish easily - if he talks very slow. Spanish natives usually talks too fast for me.
But funny, I found I couldnt understand portugal native portuguese talking. The speech is so mixed that I get pretty confused.

And in any case, checking the translation of a language you don't speak instead of the original card in a language you don't speak don't seem much of an improvement.
